The day had been a quiet one. After what (Y/n) had seen when she touched Thorin's hand, something had fallen over the group. Those that had not been present at the Battle of Moria, or had simply not been born at the time, all now realising what kind of dwarf, the prince truly was; what he had lost. And if a daughter of men was willing to pledge herself to him, what she had seen must have been quite something. All of them amazed as Balin and Dwalin stated that everything that she had said, was true; that what she had said, they themselves had witnessed. It impossible for her to know any of it, unless she was as gifted as the wizard claimed that she was.

Bilbo had of course been by her side all day. (Y/n) reassuring him that despite the blood that had made its way from her nose the night before, she was quite alright. That such things had happened in the past when she would see particularly violent things. The seer though leaving out the part about it actually feeling as though she had been there, so not to worry the hobbit. Leaving out that she had been able to taste the blood that had sunk into the earth beneath her feet; the scent of which had hung heavily in the air. That she had had to watch, an ineffective voyeur that had only been able to cry as she had witnessed and felt the prince's heart break. As he had done all he could to save his own life, after that of his younger brother and grandfather, had been taken. The seer wishing, that despite the fact that she had never so much as lain her hands on a sword, that she had been there at the side of the prince so that she could have helped. (Y/n) so touched by what she had seen, that to pledge herself to Thorin, had only been the right thing to do. Balin and Dwalin having spoken to her later about the whole thing. The two sons of Fundin filling in the gaps in her vision, before the pale haired dwarf lay his hand on her shoulder and smiled at her; telling her that he was sure that she would more than prove herself worthy to be part of the Company.

"Has he spoken to you, yet..........?" Gandalf asked, as another long day in the saddle came to an end. The Istar stretching himself out, as he got down from his saddle then made his way over to (Y/n)'s horse, offering her his hand.

"No, but I did not expect him to. I still get the feeling that he does not trust me. And........well, the events of yesterday evening have only helped to further his belief that I am some creature of ill omen." (Y/n) replied, as the wizard helped her dismount. Gandalf chuckling to himself, as she rubbed her backside. The uneven terrain proving to have made the days ride a little more uncomfortable for some, than others.

"Gandalf........."

"Yes, my dear..........?" The Grey Wanderer's brows furrowing as the seer grabbed his arm and pulled him a distance away from the group. (Y/n) smiling at Bilbo, before turning to conceal the conversation.

"The battle was not the only thing I saw..........." The lines in the old wizard's brow, becoming deeper.

"What.........?"

"It was strange. The future vision was more than it normally would be. I......I saw tumbled down ruins that were surrounded by ravens. It was cold........freezing. A layer of ice covered the water beneath where I stood. I could hear the sounds of another battle in the distance, though I could not tell you who was fighting it. But I do know that atop the hill where I stood, there was the white orc, that Balin has told me was called Azog. The princes cannot be allowed up to the hill of ravens.............." (Y/n) explained, before she suddenly gripped tightly to the wizard's arm.

"They will die, Gandalf. Each of them will die. Unless someone or something intervenes, I saw a great sadness falling over the Company and the Mountain. Three bodies laid out in state, the others...Bilbo and I with our heads lowered as we paid our last respects..........." The seer continued, and as with the night before, tears made their way down her cheeks. Her head dropping at the words.

"I wish you to do something for me, Gandalf, if and when the time comes.........."

"(Y/n)...........?"

"No, please. You are the only one I can ask this of........." (Y/n) slowly raising her head. The look in her eyes giving the wizard no choice but to nod in agreement.

"I know better than any that my visions are not set in stone. And even though I am aware that I should tell Thorin, Fili and Kili of what I have seen, I have a feeling that a warning will change nothing in this case. That Thorin will still want to take the head of the beast, and end things, once and for all. So........I feel that I have no option, other than to act. And if the worst comes to the worst, I would like you to tell Bilbo something. I would like you to thank him for me; I would like you to tell him that I am sorry; but it had to be done. That I would have liked out friendship to continue, for he has to be the sweetest, kindest being that I have ever met. Even in the short time of knowing him, I have grown to care for him a great deal. I need you to tell him that I do not regret my decisions; that I made them freely and happily. And I hope that one day, somehow, we will meet again.............."

"(Y/n) you do not............"

"Please Gandalf......." (Y/n) quickly grabbing his hand.

"I just need you to promise me, that if things go wrong and I..........well, I just need you to promise me that you will tell Bilbo all that I have said. Please........" (Y/n) breathing a sigh of relief, as the grey clad Istar nodded. The seer pushing herself up onto her tiptoes and placing a kiss to his cheek.

"Thank you....." She added simply. Brushing the tears from her cheeks with the back of her sleeve and smiling up at him, before leaving to join the hobbit that she had just been speaking of, for the night.
