Bofur gripped his mattock, as he heard a noise from somewhere close by. His brows furrowing for a moment, as he caught sight of a small head appear over the ramparts.
"Bilbo........." The dwarf quickly getting to his feet and making his way over to where the hobbit was trying to pull himself up over the steepest part of the quickly constructed defenses.
"What...........?"
"I........I had to get someone........someone that might be able to help Thorin...." Bilbo replied, as he dropped onto the floor and took a deep, relieved breath.
He knew that he was lying, that the real reason that he had left the Mountain, was to give the King's Stone to Bard and the elven king, in hopes that it might stop the looming war; but telling the truth.........a shudder making its way down his spine as he contemplated what Thorin might do, if he were to discover that he had had the Arkenstone in his possession since the day that they had entered the Mountain; and that now it was in the hands of those he saw as enemies. Bilbo just happy that (Y/n) had agreed to come with him; and that Bofur didn't seem to notice that he was as bad at lying, as the elven queen did.
"Bilbo what...........?" Bofur stopping, as a tall figure loomed over him. His heart in his throat, as he looked up at the female. The dwarf stepping back and drawing himself to his full height, as he gripped a little tighter to the handle of his weapon.
A part of him wanted to raise the alarm, to rouse the others and let them know that there was an elf in the Mountain; but he couldn't. There something about the elleth that seemed to bring hope; hope that had been missing since Thorin had begun to change. Since he had worked them day and night to find the Arkenstone and begun to mistrust each and every one of them.
He along with the others, had asked Balin about the elleth after she had spoken to Thorin, earlier that day. The elder dwarf explaining that she had been the envoy from the forest kingdom, when Thrór had reigned under the Mountain; and that the dwarven king, had seen her as a friend. Balin explaining that the lady had helped many of their kin after the dragon had appeared, despite her king's orders. Bilbo adding that it had been the queen that had helped him to rescue the Company from the dungeon's of Mirkwood. Though how this lady, an elf, could help Thorin now, Bofur wasn't sure............."
"Bofur.....she............."
"Please master dwarf, I mean neither you, nor any other in this Mountain, any harm." (Y/n) interrupted the hobbit, as Bilbo jumped to his feet and stood between the queen and his friend. Not wanting Bofur to attack the unarmed elleth or raise an alarm.
"All I wish to do is speak to Thorin. I know that it is much to ask; that you do not know me. But please........I just want to help. I want to prevent a war, and bring Thorin back............" The queen explained. Bofur looking between the exquisite elleth and the hobbit next to her.
"He's still with tha treasure. Dwalin tried ta get him ta rest, ta eat, ta see sense; but..........." Bofur's words drifting off, as the queen placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you.......Bofur..........." (Y/n) smiled. The dwarf finding himself returning the gesture, before he saw Bilbo slip his hand into that of the elven queen's and lead her into the darkness of the Mountain.

"You cannot go any further." (Y/n) suddenly said, as she and Bilbo made their way to where Thorin could be found. The hobbit's brows furrowing at the comment.
"But............"
"No, Bilbo. This is for your own good. If the worst comes to the worst, then I do not want Thorin knowing that you had anything to do with this. I want you to return to the rest of the Company, and act as if nothing has happened........"
"But the sickness.......he might........he might hurt you........."
"It is a chance I willing to take. Going in unarmed is a risk I am prepared to deal with to save Thorin and stop a needless war between dwarves, elves and men. Now, you go back to the others.........." (Y/n) explained, placing a small kiss to Bilbo's cheek, before continuing on her way to the Great Hall of Thráin. The hobbit only able to watch and hope, as the queen moved into the gloom.

Thorin looked out over the vast hoard of treasure. It was his, all his, and he would keep every last coin, every last jewel; and neither the people of Lake-town, nor the that fickle, dishonorable woodland pixie would see any of it.
"Son of Thráin, son of Thrór........" A voice called out. Thorin quickly turning and drawing his sword from its sheath. A growl coming from him as he lay eyes on the elleth, slowly making her way to him.
"How.........?"
"I am an elf, Thorin. And I have visited the Mountain enough in the past, to know how to get in without being seen by anyone.........." (Y/n) interrupted, as she took a tentative step forward.
"I suppose that husband of yours is with you, that his army now stand in the halls of my people...........I should kill you........."
"No one is with me, Thorin. I am alone and unarmed, and no one even knows I am here. And if you want to kill me, I cannot stop you; all I ask is that you speak with me first. That we talk as we used to, when you and I were friends. When a dwarven prince asked an elven lady to dance on Durin's Day............" (Y/n) continued softly, as she dropped to her knees, and looked at him; his eyes still as dark and empty as they had been when they had spoken previously. A single tear making its way down her cheek, as Thorin raised his sword and charged toward' s her.
