(Y/n) looked at herself in the long mirror, finding it hard to believe that it was her reflection. She had never been one for dresses; to her mind they weren't the most practical of things, especially when she had been working or training, so usually she dressed like a male hobbit, with a few differences to make her clothes hug her form a little closer and show her curves. So this........the gown that a female elf had brought into her room earlier, was most certainly out of the ordinary. Yet the elven dress was part of who she was. (Y/n) smiling when she recalled how beautiful her real mother had appeared in her own gown, when she had seen her in her vision.
Hesitantly, she pulled her hair back around her ears, tying it back so that they could be seen. In the Shire, no one really worried; hobbits naturally had pointier ears than the likes of dwarves or men, and hers were just a little pointer than most. But with being with the dwarves, she had felt the need to conceal them; and now she knew why. Her ears something that might have made the Company question her lineage, more than they already did. But after spending all day alone with her thoughts, (Y/n) had decided that it would be better that she confess all. That she told her brother and the dwarves what Lord Elrond had informed her of. And if that changed their mind about her; if that made Thorin more determined than ever that he didn't want her with them, then she had decided that she would just follow after the Company without them knowing. For she was not about to leave her brother alone; leave him with a dwarf that had said would not guarantee Bilbo's safety, nor be responsible for his fate. (Y/n) slowly reaching for the dagger and necklace, before placing the pendant on its chain around her neck, and the dagger into the belt at her waist. The peredhel dwarf taking one last deep breath, before heading out of the room.
If truth be told, (Y/n) hadn't realised that it had got so late. Not that Imladris was any less beautiful in the moonlight. In fact, she believed that the light of the large celestial orb which hung high over her head, made the whole place seem more ethereal than it was during the day. The waterfalls appearing to be filled with diamonds, as the soft, cool illumination of night, caught the multitude of droplets that filled the air around the falls. It taking her breath away just as much as the first glimpse of the realm of the half-elven lord had, earlier that day.
(Y/n) couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly, as she walked down the long corridor; she hadn't needed to ask anyone where the dwarves where, she could hear them. Their raucous laughter filling the air, and making her stomach twist a little. A wave of nausea overtaking her for a moment; for she may have spent all day thinking about what Lord Elrond had told her, yet she still was to think of the right thing to say. (Y/n) just hoping that it would come to her. But as she saw her brother and Thorin come from somewhere and join the others, she began to think that perhaps she should have thought a little harder. A lot relying on the opinion of Thorin, for that may sway the other dwarves; and Bilbo...........(Y/n) not wanting to think about what she would do if he were to reject her for some reason. But she wouldn't know unless she faced him........faced all of them.
"Lass!" Bofur exclaimed cheerily, as she came into the room that was lit by a fire that appeared to have been made from broken bits of furniture.
"Ya........ya look.........lovely, lass............" Dwalin said, as he and the others got to their feet. (Y/n) feeling a blush come to her cheeks at the warrior's compliment. The others nodding in agreement.
"(Y/n).......where have you been? I was getting worried." Bilbo said, as he came and took her hand. Glaring at Dwalin as he pulled his sister to come and sit by his side.
"I............I spoke to Lord Elrond and Gandalf after I left you earlier. And........" (Y/n) shaking her head, as her brother encouraged her to sit. The peredhel dwarrowdam preferring to stand, so if anyone were to draw a weapon, then she could make a quick getaway.
"And........I have something to tell you. Something to tell all of you, in fact......." Bilbo's brows furrowing, before giving her an encouraging nod to continue.
"Lord...........Lord Elrond has been able to tell me who my parents........my birth parents were........."
"(Y/n)..........?"
"No, please Bilbo. I have to say this, before my courage fails me...........My.......my mother was an elf; a lady by the name of Ilmamë, who lived here in Rivendell. But my father.......well his name was Frór, son of King Dáin and younger brother of King Thrór. They were yet to be married in the eyes of dwarves, when my father died fighting the Cold-drake with Dáin; but they were wed under elven tradition. And I...........I am the result of that union. My mother was killed by orcs, when she was travelling to the Lonely Mountain, to show Thrór, that the line of his brother, had not died out. But she, nor I ever made it. So.........there you have it. The answer to the mystery of what and who I really am. I am an elf with the blood of Durin in my veins........." (Y/n) explained. Her mouth now dry, yet her cheeks were wet with tears. The stunned silence, the shock on the faces of all those around her, making her heart break; for even though she and Thorin were not what you would call on friendly terms, she had come to truly care for the others, and the look in their eyes.......she just couldn't take it. (Y/n) quickly running from the room. Her sobs drowning out the sound of several voices calling out her name.
