For ShireStrawberry144
Gandalf's wagon made its way towards the Shire. There was to be a wedding the next day and he had brought some of his best fireworks for the festivities. Not that the wizard thought that any of it was a good idea; in fact, he thought it could be disastrous. Yet no matter his unease, he knew that it would go ahead, and it was only right that he should be there.
Now normally, he would not concern himself with such affairs of the hobbit; but these were not just any hobbit, these were Pippin Took and (Y/n) Fairbairn. And a more chaotic pair you couldn't wish to find. For as bad as Pippin could be when he was with Merry, when he was with (Y/n), the whole Shire knew that they were in trouble.
It not that either of them had ever done anything too bad; it not that they didn't have the kindest hearts and most loving natures, it was just that if there was any mischief to be made, any trouble to be found, any chaos to be caused, or silliness to be sought, you could guarantee that Pippin and (Y/n) were at the bottom of it, with Merry not too far behind.
It had of course never helped that Pippin was the youngest of his siblings, and as the only boy in the family, had been allowed to get away with far more things by his mother, Eglantine Banks, than he should have been. And as the only child of Lothos Fairbairn, (Y/n) whose mother Hyacinth Brownlock had passed not long after the little female hobbit was born, had been dotted on by her father. Lothos, never seeming to be able to get angry at his strikingly beautiful daughter, for anything. And once she and Pippin had been old enough to meet one another, they had been prone to leaving a trail of pranks, silliness and disorder behind them. Gandalf shuddering at the thought of what the two of them being together all the time, would mean.
Suddenly the wizard pulled his old horse to a stop, as he heard the sound of an excited squeal fill the air. The Istar, letting his curiosity get the better of him, as he climbed down from the wagon and peered through the trees. Gandalf shaking his head as he saw Pippin chasing his bride to be through the long grass. The two laughing as Pippin finally caught her and the pair fell to the ground.
"Get off me, you fool of a Took........" (Y/n) giggled, as she did her best to escape Pippin's grasp.
"Tomorrow, you will be a Took, too........"
"Yes, but I will not be a fool.........." (Y/n)'s words followed by another squeal, as Pippin tickled her side, causing her to squirm.
"Pippin.......please........" She begged through laughter. Pippin finally relenting and letting her go. Only to find himself on his back with (Y/n) holding him down.
"I love you, Peregrin Took; you know that don't you.......?" (Y/n) finally said, as she looked into his big green eyes. Letting go of his arms so that he could wrap them around her.
"And I love you, (Y/n) Fairbairn." Pippin replied, before kissing her on the nose.
"I always have and always will........" He continued. As the pair sat up. Pippin keeping his arms around her, as they looked out over the scene and Hobbiton below.
"I will be the best wife to you that I can possibly be. I promise........" She told him, as she rested her head on his shoulder. Pippin reaching for a buttercup to put into her hair.
"And I will be the best of husbands. And when we have little ones, I will be the best of fathers. We will have the happiest family in the whole Shire........."
"Oh, so you have already decided that we are having children. And how many do you think we will have.........?" (Y/n) enquired, as she raised her head to look at him. Her heart beating a little faster as Pippin blushed.
"Two, three, four............"
"And you are of course going to carry all those children..........?" (Y/n) asked with as serious an expression she could muster.
"Well, I, er............." Pippin spluttered, before (Y/n) started to laugh.
"Oh, you silly Took........we will have lots and lots of children, and then grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will have the biggest and happiest family in the whole of Middle-Earth. And I will love you until we both make our way to the next life, and beyond." (Y/n) assured, as she ran her fingers through his mop of soft brown hair. Pippin pulling her to him so that he could kiss her.
"You have already made me the happiest of hobbits, (Y/n). And I love you more than words can say. Though I wish that I did not have to wait until tomorrow, to call you my wife.........."
"It will come soon enough, my precious Pippin. But for now, lets just stay here a little longer and enjoy the quiet, together. I think I have had enough of your mother and sisters fussing over the last minute preparations for the wedding, for one day. (Y/n) told him. Pippin nodding in agreement, well aware of how his mother and siblings, had taken charge of everything to do with the nuptials since the moment he had told them that he had finally asked for (Y/n)'s hand. Neither of them noticing, as they lay their heads against one another, the smiling wizard that had been watching everything. Gandalf slowly making his way back to the wagon and climbing back up onto his seat, before quietly continuing on his way to the centre of the town. The old, grey haired man deciding, as the sun slowly began to disappear over the lush rolling hills of the Shire, that two fools in love, might not be as bad as he thought.
