"So you are saying even after seeing him like this your mind never waved?", HuaiSang's face was now showing both surprise and excitement. "No offense, but Wei Xiong is quite scary there and the rules and principles of the Lan sect were very rigid to accommodate a person like him"
"More reason for me to not follow him", Wei WuXian said with a teasing smile looking at his dear husband.
"Wei Ying was never going to follow the rules of Lan Sect", Lan WangJi said without a change of muscle in his face. But those golden eyes were indicating how happy the man still was about his decision. "With or Without diabolic practice, he will still break the rules and argue with elders"
"Hahahah that's so true", HuiSang laughed. "So you were already down for him, huuh??"
Lan Xichen smiled knowingly, "oohhh WangJi was so whipped even before he realised it"
"What do you mean WAS?", Jiang Cheng nudged him, "your brother is STILL whipped"
"Right, I forgot about it"
Looking at the flushed ears of Lan WangJi a good laugh spread across the cave and Wei WuXian sat there proudly. The grin on his face was already reaching his eyes.
"What timeline is this? ", SiZhui asked curiously as he looked back at the screen and watched both of his fathers walking side by side.
"It does look like Lotus Pier", Jin Ling commented observing the surroundings.
JingYi turned his head to the side to face his elders as if he was asking When did this happen?
There were a few street vendors at the dock. Wei WuXian walked over, looked, and smiled, "Good thing we didn't eat with them. Lan Zhan, come here, come here. The pie's really good. It's my treat! Can we have two please?"
Grinning, the vendor wrapped two pies in greaseproof paper. Just as Wei WuXian was about to take them, he suddenly remembered that he had no money on him. How could he treat him? However, Lan WangJi had already taken them over in place of him, paying with his other hand.
"Isn't it the same as having a sugar ddmmfff", SiZhui placed his palm over JingYi's mouth muffling his voice. "Shut up", he mouthed his friend eyeing Lan QiRen.
Wei WuXian, "Uh-oh, my apologies. Why is it always like this? Seems like every time I want to treat you to something, it doesn't work out."
Lan WangJi, "It is fine."
When Wei WuXian said this, A memory instantly filled both SiZhui and WangJi's mind. Their first ever dining together. SiZhui looked at his father with a bright face, "No it's because you only invite him when you are as broke as a beggar"
And As expected Wei WuXian got offended. "I was never broke in my entire life", he argued..
"Yeah .. that's right", SiZhui mocked
Wei WuXian took a bite, "Back then, I didn't even have to pay when I ate at the dock. I grabbed whatever I wanted, ate whatever I wanted; ran after I grabbed, walked as I ate. A month later, the vendor would get the reimbursement from Uncle Jiang."
Lan WangJi left a moon-shaped opening on the round pie, "Now, you do not have to pay either."
"Before meeting Wei WuXian I never thought I will get to hear my baby brother talking like this to anyone"
"Of course XiChen ge, I have that effect", Wei WuXian smiled to his brother-in-law enjoying the teasing.
"Yup..", JingYi commented. "He is never broke. It's just that someone else is keeping his money"
