They were engaged in assessing the place and didn't notice a figure standing on the side. Her hands crossed in front of her chest. The white long gown is still immaculate and spotless unlike the place. She was standing in front of a pathway that led to the innermost caves of the demon slaughtering cave.
"Glad to see you all"
All of them spurned around at the sudden greeting.
"Oh?", she walked towards them with a smile, "no greetings at all? I expected a minimum level of courtesy from the esteemed cultivators"
Standing in front of them she scanned Lan WangJi from head to toe with her eyes, "The mighty HanGuang-Jun.. I thought you wouldn't hold on", she curved her lips upward with a genuine acknowledgement, "Impressive"
Her words and actions were completely leisurely as if she was the host and these people were their precious guests. Lan WangJi's hands tightened on Bichen trying his hardest to not fall into the provocation. For once he wanted to let his intrusive thoughts win and choke her to death. But he needed to wait.
"Aahh? " , the lady looked at them in confusion, "why are you all not saying anything? I Am sure you have a lot to ask"
"We are not here for loose talks", Jiang Cheng gritted his teeths getting annoyed.
She nodded then again looked at them, "one person is missing"
"Uncle is injured", Lan XiChen replied instantly, "he can't travel"
"Ohh he is definitely getting old. This happens when you are not an immortal. Always scared of getting old and dying", she chuckled, "what is the use of being born as a cultivator if you can't cultivate immortality?"
"We have fulfilled the conditions", not being able to wait any longer Jin Ling interrupted, "now it is your time", the faster everything is done the faster they can breathe in relief.
"Tsk tsk", she clicked her tongue. "Young are always impatient"
"So tell me sect leader Jin", her voice filled with new found amusement, "who would you prefer to take home? Mother or Father?"
Jin Ling looked at her in horror, "you promised to give them back, both of them". The boy said, emphasizing his point.
"Of course of course" she started strolling around, "I was just asking for an opinion"
"What about Wei WuXian? ", watching Lan WangJi is not even attentive to them, Jiang Cheng asked. "What about my brother? Where is he?"
At the mention of his husband Lan WangJi's ears perked up. He traced her with curiosity. The heart is drumming hard restlessly in his chest.
"I don't remember promising anything about Wei WuXian", she shrugged waving her hands in the air, "he was my payment, remember, For bringing your sister and brother-in-law from the death"
"What do you mean? ", though they were expecting this, there was a tiny hope in their heart that crushed right at this moment.
"I mean sect leader Jiang and sect leader Jin, if you turn around maybe you could see someone now", the moment words left her mouth not just Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling but all of them swung in their feet.
What they were looking at was a rift packed with darkness. There was nothing there apart from the pitch black. They almost cursed themselves for falling for her tricks and getting fooled by her when she chuckled. The lady then gracefully walked to the rift and went inside. It only took her a half a breath of time when she came back and there was another hand securely held in hers.
