(Okay, this might seem like a smut or a lime, but it's not.. I promise. What are you still here for? Get to reading lol)
I was scared. Scared of how the hermits would react. Tomorrow was the lunar eclipse. I have always avoided them when they happened partly because if I'm under the moon outside, dragons like myself can have hatchlings. That's why I always stayed in the pitch darkness of my basement when they did happen. I wanted to get as far away from the sky as I could.
No one one knew I was a dragon hybrid, let alone can have hatchlings. I was scared of the fear and disgust that all the hermits would undoubtedly hurl at me. And I'm not ready for that. I would never be ready.
I sighed, looking up at the quickly darkening sky. The only window I'm afraid of, was the 7 minutes that the sun covered the moon. The rest was fine.
Just then, I got a text from Impulse asking where I was. I didn't respond. I didn't want anyone to think that I was joining the others willingly.
But that was before Joe had landed behind me and dragged me away. "You always miss these. We wanted you to see an eclipse for once." I sighed, trying to dig the heels of my boots into the ground to prevent me going anywhere. "I would rather see a solar eclipse. You can't see very much of a lunar eclipse." I replied, still trying to get him to let go.
I sighed again when he didn't let go and ignored me.

I was so royally screwed. I thought as I lay there in the bottom of a very deep cave. The cave walls were covered in ice, the sun shining down through the hole in front of me giving the cave a cold look. All white and light blue hues to the ice. Meanwhile my body heated up and I knew it was starting.
——
I was so weak. I barely could lift my head. But hearling the cute chirps and saueaks of the little ones surrounding me as they slept. It was peaceful. Until I heard rockets. I couldn't protect myself right now let alone my hatchlings.
Just then two people divebombed the hole and landed, their backs facing me. "His phone says he's in here somewhere." The other sighed. "I can't tell what layer he's on." "He's been gone now for a couple days. Maybe he's just mad at us for making him join us that night?"
Impulse and Xisuma looked around. They were going to head the other way from me, but one of my hatchlings just HAD to squeak. I blinked, not having the strength to do anything about it.
Who knows? Maybe they won't recognize me? I doubted that. They turned around slowly. Impulse looked shocked. "Impulse I need you to not make any noise and get behind me. I'm killing the thing before it gets any strength back." I closed my eyes.
So this was how I was going to die? With the last of my strength and energy, I changed back to my human self. They both gasped. "W-Wels?" Impulse asked. "Kill me. But please spare them? They did nothing wrong. Please, just let them live?" I asked, looking in Xisuma's eyes, trying to ignore his sword aimed at me. I looked down. "I can't protect them now. I'm way to weak."
X was silent for a moment. "You just used up the last of your strength changing right?" He asked. I nodded once.
He went over to me and.. picked me up? "Neither of us will hurt you or your hatchlings. We'll protect them." X replied.
I now know that I was safe. My vision went dark.
———-
When I woke up, a hand was holding mine. I looked up to see a brunette asleep, his head on his other arm. I squeezed his hand a bit and his head moved a bit and he opened his eyes and seeing me awake, bolted up.
Joe hills. He stood up and backed up to the door as I looked around. "Where are
my-" he cut me off, "with X. I didn't know you were a dragon hybrid," he started, pushing his glasses onto his face. "I would never have make you watch the lunar eclipse."I shrugged. Still unsettled about my hatchlings. "X told me what would happen to dragons when exposed to one." He must have seen how I looked because the next thing he said, shocked me. And not in a bad way.
"There are more hybrid hermits on this server than humans. I honestly think that X would ban anyone who hated them, don't you think? I mean, he's one too, you know."
Before he could say anything else, the door opened to X. "Impulse is with the cuties." I nodded. "Also, Keralis checked all of them. They are all happy and healthy. There are twelve in total. Five of which are girls. The rest, boys." He sat down on the other side of the bed at my feet after shooing Joe out.
He carded his gloved fingers through my hair making me only realize now that I wasn't wearing my armor and helmet. Instead, I was in grey sweatpants and a thin
long-sleeve navy blue top. He must have noticed. "Your armor was dirty and covered in blood. And Keralis didnt want to leave the room. Same with Impulse or Joe. But I kicked them all out once Keralis said you weren't injured too badly. And I had taken your armour, helmet and clothes to be washed by Stress. And I bathed you then put these on." I nodded a bit. "These are some of my old pjs, but they seem to fit you okay." I smiled."Thank you. Who knows that I'm.." "a dragon?" X shook his head. "Only myself, Joe and Impulse. Keralis and Stress just think you were attacked or something." I sighed in relief.
