Prologue

Me and my dad have always been close. Being the first born child he's been training me to be alpha my whole life. We're sat in his office discussing some pack issues about half hour into the meeting we hear absolutely chaos outside. As my dad stands up to check our head warrior Clive mind links us

"Everyone be warned there has been a breach in the east boarder!! I repeat there's been a breach in the east boarder! All memebrs get your asses out here now we need assistance ASAP!!!!"

Me and my dad run downstairs and out the door and I'm stunned at by what I see. Hundreds of wolves are fighting on the field. I don't recognise the scent of the other wolves. We both  jump into action shifting mid air. Me and my dad are both black wolves but my dad's wolf is slightly bigger than mine. We scan the field looking for my mum and sister

"Can you see your mum or sister!!"

"Shit! I can't see them!!"

My dad starts frantically linking the pack and my mum while more wolves coming charging onto the field

"Alpha, we have the luna. She is to the left side of the field we're trying to keep her safe but we don't have eyes on Shannon yet"

Fuck. Shannon is only 16 she hasn't had her first shift yet and can't mind link anyone until he wolf comes forward. I see a man who's not from our pack grabbing Shannon from behind. She slams her head back into his face and his nose spits out blood. She's running towards me.

I run over to her and start to nudge her towards the house

"I am not moving Joshua!!!! This is my pack as well I don't care if I can't shift I'm fighting with you!!!"

I growl at her in warning and then I hear my mum screaming from the side "let me go you bastards!!! That's my family!!!!"

Two guards are trying to hold her back. I find my dad in the crowd and he's got 4 wolves on him snapping and clawing at him, I start running towards him but I'm tackled to the ground. I bite the wolf on the shoulder and they howl out in pain.

"Carter!! Where are you, I need you man!" Carter is my best friend and a dam good fighter

"I'm a little occupied at the moment!!!"

I manage to get free of the wolf and look over to my dad. He putting up a good fight. He's got a pile of dead wolves around him but they just keep coming. I look towards my mum just as two wolves jump on the back of the guards who are trying to hold my mum back. As soon as she's free she shifts and is running towards my dad.

"Mum be careful!!"

Three wolves jump on my mum and I charge over to help her. Another wolf jumps on my back knocking me off balance. I quickly get up and pounce on them ripping it's throat out. Dropping the dead wolf I run to my mum and start pulling the wolves are her. She's getting weak but still fighting.

"Dad! How you holding up!?"

His response is weak and I know he's not doing good

"Keep...your...mother... and Shannon... safe"

There's a loud howl by the treeline and the wolves start backing off. They all run or limp to the trees and then there's a deathly silence before my mums howl fills the air. Shannon is at my side she's covered in marks, bruises and blood. We run over to where my mum is standing over my dad. Her body shaking
