chapter 30

Joshs pov

It's finally time to meet the parents, luckily I grabbed some semi decent clothes in my rush to pack. I've put on my dark jeans and a white long sleeved shirt, I sort my hair out and trim my beard. Abi helps kayleigh with her make up, I helped her get dressed which was quite easy as she can only wear a dress due to her cast on her leg. Her long dark blue hair has been put in a bun and she looks bloody stunning.

We walk downstairs to meet the others. Shannon smiles up at me "my goddess you both look amazing!! Let me get a picture!"

I sit on the chair and place kayleigh on my lap swinging her legs over mine so she's sat side ways I wrap an arm around her waist and put the other hand on her leg. She smiles and puts her arm across my neck and her other resting on my hand, I give her a kiss on her cheek before smiling at the camera, shannon smiles with an "awwwww" and sends us the photo.

"Right come on we'll be late!" Evie shouts and we go outside. Evie, shannon, kai and abi get into abis car while me and kayleigh get into my car. Kayleigh types the address and we set off. 5 minutes later we pull up to a restaurant.  It looks really fancy and I'm glad I remembered by wallet.

We all climb out and I help support kayleigh as she hobbles in, I wanted to carry her but she refused. We all walk into the main reception and evie talks to the woman at the front. A few moments later we're led through the restaurant and to a table where two elderly couple sit. They all stand up as we make our way over, they all hug and shake hands before they look at me I reach out my hand "nice to meet you, I'm josh"

One man was in his 50s but he still radiated power. He took my hand in his and gave a firm shake "josh,  I'm Eric, I'm evies dad and this is my wife joy"

A small woman shakes my hand. She may be small but again you can feel her power off her "lovely to meet you josh"

They sit down and another man stands. This I'm guessing is kayleighs dad. He's the same hight and build as Eric. His dark eyes are just like kayleigh and abi.  He takes a moment to look me up and down, I don't back down but also try to come across as trying intimidate him. He holds out his hand "I'm Micheal, kayleigh and abis father, this is my wife sarha. Am I correct to call you alpha?"

I smile at him "alpha is my title but please just call me josh" he smiles at me

We all sit down and the waiter gives us the menus. They all talk about the pack and how things are going . It's only ten minutes until the conversation is turned to me. I'm asked how old I was when I took over, why i took over, what's my pack like, how i run it, do we have enemies etc. I answer all their questions as polite as I can. I know theyre just working me out.

Finally I'm asked the question from Micheal "so I gather you're kayleighs mate?

I smile at him "yes sir"

He turns to kayleigh "and he makes you happy"

She smiles at me, her eyes full of lust "of course he does dad. He's wonderful in every single way"

I squeeze her hand "then you have my full blessing, welcome to the family josh"

Once that conversation was done we all enjoyed our meal and made small talk. I loved hearing the family stories, me and Shannon spoke about family and home. Shannon has tears in her eyes as we spoke about dad..

A few hours later we all head home. I'm absolutely drained and just want some sleep the events of the last few days is catching up with me. Once back at the house we all say goodnight and go to bed. I pull kayleigh into me "you coming with me tomorrow then?"

"Of course, I can't wait"

"Shannon said she wants to come back home for a few days as well so evie can come and meet the pack as well and you both get to meet my mum but I think shannon just wants to see the baby "

"Babies are cute though you can't deny that" I'm silent as the thought of kayleigh carrying my pup makes my heart skip a beat

"Kay" I whisper

"Yes josh I would love to have your kids one day but let's give it a few years at least" we both laugh and slip into a deep sleep.

Me and kayleigh sleep until 8am, when we finally wake up I help her to shower as its a bit tricky when she can't weight bare with a cast on her leg. I help her pack a suitcase cos apparently she's taking the whole fucking house!

"Seriously kay, you don't need to pack all this. I can buy you more toiletries to keep at mine and I have a washing machine you know. You don't need 25 different outfits for 2 week stay"

She rolls her eyes at me "Seriously josh? I don't know what the weather will be like! I need different outfits for different weather, we might go out, I need comfy clothes for relaxing in etc!"

"Just take the basics like a normal person!"

"No! If you don't like it then I won't come!"

"Fuck sake kayleigh I'm not saying that! I'm saying you don't need all this!"

"Yes I do!!"

"What ever" I hold my hands up and walk out the room to find Shannon. She's in her room packing her suitcase. "Really? You're taking a suitcase as well!"

She turns round to face me "what?"

"I just told kayleigh she doesn't need a suitcase cos she don't need to take that much and here you are doing the same! I come here for you to help me but clearly you'll take her side"

"Just let her take the suitcase josh! It's just a suitcase relax. She's probably nervous and over thinking it. She's meeting mum, the pack etc. They'll know she's your mate and their future luna. Trust me that's alot for someone to process. Just let her do her thing"

She's right, I didn't think of it like that. I walk back to the room to find kayleigh sat on the bed crying. I quickly rush over to her and sit by her "Hey, what's the matter?"

"That's our first fight josh! If we're arguing already maybe staying with you for 2 weeks Isn't a good idea" she sniffs and wipes her tears on her sleeve.

"Don't be silly , it wasn't an argument love, I was just getting stressed cos you kept changing your mind on what to pack. I don't think like that I just throw some stuff in a bag and I'm done. I'm sorry, I'll help you finish packing"

Finally we're done! I've loaded the car up, we've said goodbye to everyone, shannon and evie get into evies car while me and kayleigh get into my car. I help her into the passenger seat. Straight away she connects her phone to my car and I'm now being tortured by her singing! Goddess help me I've got this for two hours!!

"Hey carter, we're on our way back now. I have shannon and evie with me, well be home by 12, I'll go and see mum first and then we'll be over to yours if Emily is up for visits"

"Sure thing man. It'll be good to see you and I have some things to fill you in on but that can wait until tomorrow. Drive safe and see you soon"

I end the connection and block out kayleighs awful singing.
