Joshs pov

Me and carter are in his lounge. He's sat on the sofa feeding olive a bottle, I've made us a coffee and sat down with him. I've explained what we saw in the cells

"We'll have to make sure Carl and the witches sister give us all the information. We need to track them ASAP! They've already got a head start on us" Carter sighs as he burps olive "we need to stop them ASAP they've already coursed so much pain and heart break. How's evie?"

"Kayleigh said she's out of surgery but she's lost alot of blood. Harrison, Steve, Leo and tony are critical but unfortunately we've lost Jimmy and Chris. I haven't had a full body count yet. It's not good though man. You saw how many people showed up earlier, most of them were teenagers or the elderly. I think only 100 odd of our people made it out. I'm heading over to the hospital soon to check on the girls and talk to Irene"

"They was good men. We'll give them a proper send off when this is over and ill make sure their wives and Jimmy's kids are looked after" Carter reassures me.

"Sorry to storm in like this. I'll let you get some rest while she's sleeping ill see you tomorrow" I nod at carter and walk myself out and go to the hospital. I let Irene know we need a chat and make my way to her office.

I walk in and see how cozy it is. There's a big window at the back wall, her desk is to the left and she's got a beautiful view. She's got a big gray sofa against the right wall and lots of pictures of quotes on the wall. Irene is sat at her desk and I take a seat on the sofa. She gets a chair and sits infront me holding a tablet.

"So alpha right now we have 10 deaths. The two you know about Jimmy and Chris?"

I nod and she continues "we've also lost four more guards, claire Stevens, Holly Smith, Gary wicks and Neil Stanley"

" please make sure their families are seen to Irene" she nods. Thankfully we have a very good mental health support team here and they will support the families through this time.

"We also lost Craig and shelby white. They recently mated and shelby come here to be with Craig" sadness washes over me . Shelby only joined us a few months ago after meeting Craig. Guilt fills me knowing I'll have to inform her family and I know they'll blame me and my pack for her death but that's something I'll deal with when the time comes.

"Who else?" I can't bare to look at her. Hearing the names are killing me. "James and Susan Collins" chloes parents are dead "how?"

Irene looks confused "sorry?"

"How did Craig, shelby,  James and Sue die Irene"

"Craig and shelby shifted and faught to protect their home and Craig's family. James and Sue was walking home from an appointment" she looks down at the floor and when she looks up sadness fills her eyes "they was here having an appointment with me alpha, they was having therapy due to chloes disappearance.  Sue is, sorry was certain chloe is dead. I was helping them, they was just walking home alpha and was brutally killed, they had their throats ripped out in their human forms they didn't stand a chance" she starts crying and I'm filled with guilt.

"Shit Irene. This is such a mess!" I can't stop the growl that leaves my chest.

"It's not your fault alpha. You've done nothing wrong and I know you and beta Carter will do everything to end this ASAP"

I force a smile "We will Irene, what else do we have? How many critical condition?"

"As you know alpha evie was one of the worst. Her injuries was bad alpha, I've never seen anything like it. The closest I've seen is a gunshot wound which had sliver bullets but there was no silver in her system. It's very strange"
