chapter 11

Kayleighs pov

It's Sunday which means one thing... me and abi cook a dinner for all the pack members. I don't know why we started doing this because feeding over 100 werewolves is not easy!! We all have big appetites. We decide to pop to the local market and get the veg and then the butchers to get the meat. It's okay 9am but it takes all day to prep and cook this much food.

"Want to grab a coffee first?" Abi looks at me with a big smile "obviously!"

My big sister is addicted to coffee. I'm lucky to have her as a sister, I know alot of people who don't get on with their siblings but we've always gotten along. I have a lot of love and respect for her. She's the same hight and build as me but has long blonde hair, we get our brown eyes from our father. Even though evie and abi are older than me we always spent alot of time together, evies dad was the alpha before he passed it on to evie and our dad Micheal, his brother was his beta who alsp passed on his status to abi a few months after evie took over.

When they wasn't training we would always hang out together, I've always been the 'wild child' as abi and evie always worried about their reputation knowing they'd soon being running the pack. I didn't have that problem so I always 'getting into trouble' most the time Abi would bail me out of it

I'm lost in thought in autopilot when abi snaps her fingers in my face "hello shit brains!! You there!!"

"Ah shit sorry" I laugh at her comment "zoned out there"

"You always zone out, am I that boring?"

"Honestly? Yes you are"

She slaps my arm and we both laugh as we walk into the shop. Two young girls our age are working and one looks up at us and smiles, she's the girl that was here the other day when evie found her mate, I recognise her now, we walk over and place our order before standing the side to wait. I notice abi keeps looking at her "Hey sis, I don't think kai would like sharing"

She snaps her head to me "sharing what?"

"You"

She shakes her head at me and my phone pings in my pocket. I see a message off my best mate Lucy asking if Im up for a trip to the cinema tomorrow. I tap a quick reply then hear abis name be called, we grab our drinks and walk out the shop and start shopping.

Over an our later we're back at the pack house. We've got some 2000s r&b playing on the speaker while we prep the food. We deiced to go with chicken, beef and lamb for the meat and got loads of different veg, some to roast and some to just stream. Luckily we have a massive oven so we can cook the meats all at time.

Finally it's 3pm and we've got it all done, everything is in dishes that keep it all warm.

"Yo fuckers!!! Dinner is ready" I mind link the whole pack. 15 minutes later the kitchen is filled with people from babies to the elderly.

"Do we have cake?" A little voice from the corner speaks up. It's a pup around 5 years of age, his mum tells him to stop being rude and eat his meal first. I smile up at him "of course we have cake! I made chocolate cake and carrot cake yesterday but if you don't like that then alpha evie has a stash of ice cream I can pinch for you"

A big smile spreads over his face while he punches the air "yes!! I love Sundays!" We all laugh and take our seats. Everyone starts helping themselves to the food and we all make light conversations.

"This food doesn't taste as good as you" I nearly choke on my food as Jason's voice pops into my head, I can see him hiding his smile as he carries on talking to the man next to him.

An hour later everyone is finished and everyone helps tidy up before we serve pudding. My cakes alwags go down well and I'm glad but again baking for this many werewolves is never easy.

5pm everyone thanks us and leaves the kitchen, we always make Sundays a pack day and I love it. We're extremely luckily to have such a close knit pack.

"Who's up for a game of football!!!?" Toby yells through the house. The men and kids cheer as they flood out into the field. This is why I love summer! We spend alot of time having barbecues, playing outside or hiking with the pack.

The women follow out the house. Most women sit on the side and watch their mates or kids playing but me, abi, evie and Lucy always join in even though we're not very good at it. Half hour later we're all still running around, I have the ball when Jason slid tackles me and takes the ball! I chase after him and slam my body into his side, it knocks him off balance but he catches himself before he falls

"what the fuck kay! It's footie not rugby!!" 

I laugh at him and kick the ball to Lucy. "Ohh you want to play like that? Lads, all rules are out the window according to kayleigh!"

I gulp as all the men laugh "wait! No that's not fair! You're bigger than us!"

Lucy shouts at them before evie walks by me "it's okay girls. They might think they're stronger but I'm the alpha. Let's kick ass"

"That's not fair! You have the alpha!" Toby says in a high pitch laugh "seriously though we won't get punished for kicking your ass will we alpha?"

Evie let's out a proper belly laugh "stop bitching and let's play!!"

Abi takes the ball and kicks it across the field to George who is running with some speed keeping the ball close to his feet, as he scans the field Toby slides under him and takes the ball, George lands on his ass before glaring at his big brother. Toby laughs and passes the ball to jason, I charge at him but when I go to tackle him he moves at the last second laughing as he kicks the ball to another pack member. Evie stops the ball just as his reaches the man and stares at him before she laughs at the fear on his face and kicks it to abi

"Steve!! What the fuck man!!" Someone shouts but he shrugs his shoulders

"she's the fucking alpha man!! Sorry!"

All the men start shouting and arguing so we use this moment to the ball down the field, George smashes the ball into the net and we all jump and clap "GOAL!!!!!"

The game goes on for another hour before we all tired, it ended up 3-2 to us which some of the men wasn't happy about.

It's almost 8pm when most call it a night. Me, abi, evie and kai head back to the house laughing as kai is still moaning about loosing the game. We all sit down at the big table in the kitchen and evie gets the jug of water out the fridge and we all pour ourselves a glass.

After 15 minutes kai and abi say their good nights and head upstairs.

"how's it going with your mate evie? You seen him again?"

Evie stills for a moment. A unreadable expression on her face "hmm no I haven't"

"Why?"

"Stop pushing kayleigh! I said no okay!?"

"Whoo calm down evie! I'm excited for you that's all. I was just asking a dam question!!"

She stands up and squares her shoulders. "Do not talk to your alpha that way!"

"I'm not taking to my alpha right now eve, I'm talking to MY FAMILY!! What ever is going on with you fucking sort it out. I asked a dam question no need to get so defensive!"

I storm off to my room. I hear her call my name but I ignore her, I don't know what's gotten into her but I swear since she met her mate she's been a right bitch!
