chapter 29

Kayleighs pov

I try to open my eyes but I'm hit by a blinding pain and quickly shut them again

"Hey, it's okay. Don't move you'll be very sore. I'll ring the doctor "

I hear josh beside me. Why is here and why does he need a doctor? I try to open my eyes but again I wince in pain.

"Hello kayleigh, I'm doctor Andrews, don't try to move okay. I'm going to take your hand and try to squeeze my hand okay"

I feel a warm hand take mine and I try my best to squeeze it as hard as I could

"good, now squeeze my hand once if you remember anything from how you ended up in the hospital squeeze twice for no"

I try to think but it's blank. All I remember Is leaving the club. I squeeze his hand twice

"Okay, try and rest as much as you can, your body has been through alot okay"

I feel him let go of my hand and hear the foot steps as he walks away. I try again to open my eyes and I eventually force them open. I see josh next to me and he looks like he hasn't slept for days. When he sees me awake he stands up and kisses my head "Hey"

I try to speak but my mouth is like sand papar and I cough "l

" do you want a drink" I slowly nod my head and josh grabs the glass off the table,  fills It was water and pops a straw in before helping me to take a sip "better?"

I nod "what happened "

Josh puts this glass down and sits in the chair by the bed. He takes my hand and tells Me what evie said happened. I can't remember anything from the attack.

"Are they okay?" I manage to croak out

"They're fine. They had some cuts and bruises but they've healed well. Do you want me to tell them you're awake?"

I nod and close my eyes again the light hurting my eyes and head too much. A few minutes later the door opens and I know abi and evie are here

"Hey sis, you gave us a scare there. How you feeling"

"Errr sore"

"I'll leave you guys to chat, I'll go to the house and see Shannon"

Josh leaves the room and abi and evie take a seat each side of me "George is blaming himself for this" evie says to my left

"Noo" I whisper "it's okay"

Evie sighs "we know that but he's still blaming himself. He'd like to come and see you when you're a bit better if that's okay?"

"Sure"

Before I know it the darkness comes over me again and I fall asleep.

2 days later I'm finally allowed home. Josh refuses to let me walk and carries me to the pack house. He walks into the kitchen and pops me down on a chair before getting me some water. Abi is cooking something that smells amazing, she looks over at me and smiles "I thought you'd be sick of the plain hospital meals so I've got steak, chips, peas, mushrooms and onion rings almost done"

I almost dribble at the thought of the food. 10 minutes later me, josh, abi, kai, evie and Shannon are at the table eating. Josh won't move from me and it's actually quite sweet.

"How's everything at hilltop?"

Shannon asks, I watch as josh's face drops

"SHIT! I Shut off the mind link connection when I got here! I better check in and see how things are. Sorry guys excuse me"
