Kayleighs pov.
We finally arrive at the pack grounds. Two gaurds welcome us and let us in. We pull up to massive plot of land. Alot like ours it has one big house on the far left and then other houses scattered around. Josh explained they don't live in the pack house anymore since their dad's death and all have their own houses.
His pack is over 150 members but they're tight knit community. Evie and Shannon step out and evie wraps her arm around Shannon's shoulders. Josh comes round my side and helps me to get up. I can't wait for this cast to be off.
We make a short walk to a little house tucked across to the right, it's different from the rest with it's little picket fence around the outside and the front garden is beautiful, it has a big porch with a swing chair on and then the garden is filled with flowers, bird feeders, bird baths and wind chims. It's absolutely beautiful.
We walk up to the big wooden door and Shannon pushes it open "mum?"
We hear the sound of someone running, a older woman is running towards us, she has dark brown hair like Shannon's but looks like josh. She's absolutely beautiful, her smile is so bright as she approaches us
"ahhh my babies!!! Come here!!" I lean on evie so josh and Shannon can hug their mum. You can just tell how much they all mean to each other, after a short moment she pulls away and looks at us
"oh goddess! Are these your mates?"
We smile at her and nod she turns back to josh and Shannon "how did you two get paired with them ! They're beautiful!!"
We all laugh and she catches sight of my bright pink cast on my leg. Her eyes fill with worry "what happened!!? Are you okay? Come on come and sit down lovely "
I lean on evie more as we follow them down the hall to a room, it's a cozy little lounge with 1 sofa and 2 chairs. Pictures cover the light brown wall to my right, the rest of the walls are white but it feels cozy. Me and evie take a seat on the sofa while josh excuses himself to make drinks. Shannon sits next to evie and their mum takes a chair. She looks at me and evie "sorry I just rambled on, I'm mandy"
"Lovely to meet you mandy, I'm kayleigh " I can't help but smile at her, she's so genuinely sweet
"Like wise kayleigh so you must be evie?"
She looks at evie and I know evie is finding it hard. She struggles to relax and let her gaurd down around new people. Shannon places her hand on her knee she relaxes "Yes ma'am"
"Oh don't ma'am me sweetheart! Call me mandy. Please"
Josh returns with a tray of drinks and places them on the big wooden coffee table. He takes a seat on the chair next to me "do you need to pop your leg up or you okay?"
"I'm okay don't stress"
"Can I ask what happened?" Mandy asks but my memory is still fuzzy from that night so shannon briefly explains what happened. Mandys face is filled with concern the whole time
"oh goddess! That sounds awful! I'm glad your okay!"
We continue small talk, talking about family, friends and our packs before josh says we need to see carter and made a promise we'll be back later for dinner.
We make the short walk to carter's house, josh knocks and waits a few seconds before the door opens and carter is stood smiling. He wraps his arms around josh and squeezes him
"so good to to see you man! We have so much to catch up on"
Josh laughs and pats his back "Yeah, yeah. I'm here for my niece not your ugly mug"
