chapter 18

Kayleighs pov

It falls silent and we all walk into the room, there's a dead wolf on the floor and a gray wolf I don't recognise but I guess this is Shannon. She's covered in blood that I only guess is hers and the dead wolfs. Evie and Shannon are looking at each other full of love and pride. Evie nudges Shannon forward and we all lower our heads

"luna Shannon!"

I see Shannon's eyes light up before filling with tears.  We all lift our heads and howl to the sky once more. Our luna is safe, our alpha is happy. No one got hurt... well apart from the dead wolf but obviously she deserved it.

Evie leaves a few men behind to clean up the mess and we all travel back to the pack house in our wolf forms. Once we home we all go behind the trees and shift into our human forms and get dressed into the clothes we left there earlier after we shifted. Evie and Shannon share a moment before walking to the house. Josh walks up to, he stands in front of me, I look up at him, small smile spreads across his face "hello mate"

"Hey, I'd like to formally introduce my self" I hold out my hand "I'm kayleigh"

He shakes my hand and I feel the buzz all over my skin. He leans down so his lips are by mine "lovely to meet you kayleigh" his body being this close to me makes my head dizzy.

"Come on, we need to get in" I turn away from him and go into the house we're all sat in the kitchen of the pack house, josh sits a few chairs down from me but I can't seem to take my eyes off him, evie and josh take it in turns to tell the story of what happened  to the other wolves that wasn't there. Most of them wear a shocked expression while looking at Shannon

George shows her a massive smile "wow Shannon you sound like a right little bad ass! I wish I could of been there!"

I can't focus on the conversation cos I'm watching the way his muscles ripple when he does the actions to tell the story

Abi clears her throat and gets everyone's attention " right everyone, now the excitement and adrenaline as worn off I'm absolutely shattered so I'm calling it a night" kai smiles up at her and stands up and takes abis hand as they leave the room.

Everyone starts standing up and excusing themselves. Only a few remain evie looks over towards josh

"It's getting late now so just letting you know you're more than welcome to stay if you want to. You're always welcome here"

Josh has a genuine smile on his face

"thank you evie. Not just for the offer to stay but everything you've done for Shannon. You've proven yourself to me as her brother and alpha that you're worthy of her. I know you'll protect her with your life and for that ill be forever greatful"

"I appreciate that josh and I promise you, she will never come to harm as long as I'm around"

Carter stands up "as much as I'm happy it all worked out I'm absolutely fucked so I'm happy to stay the night. I just want a shower and sleep"

we all start laughing and josh stands as well "I agree with carter on that one. Please tell me you have two spare rooms cos I'm not sharing with him!"

We all stand up and I look at josh "I'll show you my room incase you decide to come by later"

He's got a look of pure lust on his face and his eyes dilate.  Oh I know he's coming by later

Not taking my eyes off him "we do have two spare rooms. I'm happy to show you where they are?"

A smile spreads over joshs face "sure thing.  Thank you kay"

Carter starts laughing "please say my room isn't by yours or his? I actually want to sleep tonight and not hear a head board banging against the wall!"

We all start laughing and exit the kitchen. I walk up the stairs and point to the door at the end of the hallway "that's evies room" I point to the door next to it " that's her office but it's always locked so don't go snooping" I carry on walking down the hallway and point to another door on the left "Carter you can take that room if you want to "

He smiles up at me "cheers kay, good night guys " he goes in and shuts the door, josh takes a step closer to me and I smile at him "that one next to carter's room is abis room" he steps closer again

"I don't care about that kayleigh, show me where your room is right now"

I'm normally full of confidence but this man is making me shy! I feel the heat spread to my cheeks before I turn round and point to the door at the end of the corridor.  Josh bends down and scoops me up, I try not to squeal in shock, I wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around neck, he kisses me hard as he walks to my room just as we hear evie and Shannon climb the stairs he steps in to my room and shuts the door, he breaks the kiss for a moment to lock the door, I see his blue eyes are swirling with yellow tints and I know he's fighting his wolf because I'm doing the same thing!

He growls "Mate" before carrying me to the bed and placing me down gently, this man is about destroy me. Mind, body and soul. I gulp as he takes a step forward.

I had to repeat some of the parts from 'ny secret mate' to see it from joshs and kayleighs pov but now it's back to their story and I can't wait to share it with you. I've got some more chapters written up that ill post next week.
