chapter 49

Kayleighs pov.

I planned to meet Sophie and then head over to have a chat with Phil later today before I'm due back at work the weekend. Sophie is human so has no idea about our world, she thinks I had an accident at home and fell down the stairs while bringing my washing down. Abi said she panicked and just thought of the most stupid thing. I throw on a pair of pink leggings, put on a white top and grab my matching pink jacket, now autumn is coming it's getting a little bit more chilly. I put my trainers on and grab my bag.

Shannon gives me a lift into town as I still haven't learnt to drive yet but it's definitely on my to do list and I'll get round to it at some point. "Let me know when you want picking up and I'll come and get you"

I smile as I climb out of the car "Thanks hun" I close the door and wave as she pulls off. I message Sophie to say I've just gotten the shopping center and I'll meet her at the little cafe we both like. I take a slow walk while texting josh, I reach the cafe and walk in, it smells amazing in here! I find a table and sit facing the door. A young woman comes over and passes me a menu

"can I just get a carmal latte please. I'll order food when my friends comes"

"Sure thing" She's smiles and walks away, a few minutes later she brings my coffee and I wrap my hands around the hot cup, soon after Sophie comes in, she scans the room and then smiles at me as she rushes over, I stand up and hug her "Hey soph"

"How you feeling?" She pulls away and takes a seat opposite me "Yeah getting there. Still a little sore"

The same woman comes over at smiles at Sophie "can I get you a drink?"

"Can I have a tea please"

"Of course" she smiles and walks away. Me and Sophie spend a moment scanning the menu when the woman returns with her drink we order some food and relax again

"I can't believe you broke your foot! " Sophie laughs "only you kay!"

I laugh with her "I know, I deiced to bring all my washing down and I couldn't see over the top and I missed the step and went flying down! I must of landed really awkwardly, luckily abi was home!"

"Won't be doing that again any time soon then?" She raises her eye brow

"Nah it got me out of laundry duties now though which is a good thing" I smile at her and our food comes. I got a omelette with chips and salad and Sophie got a ham and cheese toastie. We both dig in the food and it's so good. It's been ages since I've had an omelette

"So how's things with you? Been up to much?" I ask Sophie before taking another bite

"Same old. Just work and studying" Sophie is only 19 but shes just started college a few months ago, she plans to become a vet and works at the bar with me to earn her money to pay off her student loans. She's a sweet girl. She's small in hight and build with beautiful long thick blonde hair and big brown eyes. She's naturally pretty and has such a kind heart.

"How's college going ? You enjoying it?"

"Hmmm yeah it's just boring at the moment, it's going to take me years of studying"

She explained to me she has to complete complete a 5 year program at the veterinary school and then she needs to complete a veterinary degree programme. It's a long road but she's so passionate about it. She'll make a great vet one day

"It'll be worth it soph"

"Yeah" she smiles to her self

"You okay?" The woman comes back and takes our plates for us and we order another drink
