chapter 61

Kayleighs pov.

It's finally my last night at wolf creek. Tonight we're having a small pack gathering to say goodbye before abi and Shannon drive me to hilltop where I'll start my new life. I've been trying to pack but it's so hard, I hear a soft tap on the door and Shannon steps in, I bow my head as she walks in

"luna shannon"

I look up and she rolls her eyes "don't do that kayleigh! I expect the pack to greet me like that but not family" she walks further into the room and points to the bed

"can I?"

I nod my head and she sits next to me

"Finally hit your leaving?" She asks and I just nod again, I'm fighting back the tears and I don't want her to think I'm unhappy to be with her brother as that's not the case.

"I get it, I was so excited and nervous when I left hilltop. I had no idea where I was going or what would happen but here I am"

She smiles sweetly at me "I met my mate, joined an amazing pack and now have a new family who I wouldn't trade for the world. It will be hard kay but I promise you it'll be so worth it and besides we'll come and visit and you can come here as well"

"I know but I'm scared"

"Hilltop is amazing, you'll love it there and you'll have amazing support there"

"We're living in the pack house shan, I don't know how to feel about it"

"I know, josh told me. That house holds many secrets and memory's. You and josh will make it your own, youll have your own kids running around and it will all be worth it. Now do you want a hand sorting this?" She waves her hand across my room that is now filled with clothes and random things that ive thrown around. I nod and we kneel on the floor sorting through the crap and slowly packing my bags

An hour later I have two suitcases filled of my favourite clothes, perfumes, make up, hair and skin care etc. Shannon leaves me to get ready and I quickly throw on a pair of black leggings and a long gray knitted jumper dress, I brush my hair and apply a little make up. I take one last look in the mirror when I hear another knock and see the girls walk in, abi is holding a small wrapped thing in her hands as she walks over and passes it to me she smiles

"just a little something for you to take" she has tears in her eyes and I look down at it. I slowly rip off the bright yellow wrapping paper and carefullt tear the tissue paper, inside is a frame picture of me, abi, evie and Shannon at my birthday party a few weeks ago, we're all doing silly poses at the camera. I look up at them and start crying, abi quickly rushes over to me

"Hey, it's okay. I didn't mean to upset you, I thought it would be nice to put in the new house"

I wipe my eyes gently "I love it. Thank you guys" I open my arms so Shannon and evie can join in and have a group hug

"Goddess I'm going to miss you guys" I choke out through the tears

"We'll miss you too but you know this has always been and forever will be your home kay" evie whispers into my ear. She's right, wolf creek will always be my home and I know they'll all be here if I need them.

We break the hug as kai mindkinks us to say people are arriving and make our way downstairs to the big room we use to host parties. They had all set up the room with balloons, disco ball, food and drinks. I spent the last 2 days making cakes and cupcakes as well. As I walk through the door everyone cheers and comes to hug me. Not everyone is here but most of the pack are then I see Sophie walking towards me with tears in her eyes

"Soph! What you doing here!"

She hugs me tightly "George said i could come.  Hope you don't mind!"
