chapter 42

Kayleighs pov

The men Stuart sent out move quick, it isn't long before they approach us. As soon as they're close enough we jump on them. 3 went down easily when josh, Harrison and Ian jump on them and snap their necks . The other 5 wasn't so easy,  one jumps for Laura and takes her to the ground, she takes a few hits to the face before shannon kicks him in the ribs, Laura jumps up and gets the upper hand on the guard, one other man grabs shannon from behind and she throws her head back and smashes her head into his nose, as he let's her go josh stands behind him and slices his throat with a knife dropping his body to the floor. 5 are now dead as the other 4 study before us before making a move

"I TOLD YOU HE WOULD HAVE MORE HERE!!" We hear Stuart shout , I look over and see him heading back into the building "josh he's gone back inside!" I shout at him as he's fighting with another man.

Josh, Ian, Harrison and Laura are fighting with the remaining guards

"Billy  Alfie and Irene you stay here and help them! The rest follow me!!"

I rush out to the building and hear josh screaming at me to get back but I don't listen.

"Steve, Brian get that door open now!"

They charge at the door and pull on it but nothing, pam steps forward and a bolt of light shoots from her hands and hits the door, it flies off the hinges and I look back in shock "thank you pam!"

"Evie! Jane. Make your way in!" I mind link evie and we all slowly walk into the building. It's dark inside but luckily we can see thanks to our wolf.

"Don't fight it Stuart! You know you're not getting out of here" I say outloud but I don't hear nothing, evie joins me at the front of the group. We scan the huge room that looks like it's been converted into a living area. There's a tv, few sofas and a pool table.

We hear movement above us and evie points the stairs at the back of the room

"Carl, Steve, mark, jane, keep a few men here, wait for alpha josh and make sure no one else comes in and out. The rest follow us" I mind link the pack and I hear Carl whisper what I just said to the witches. They all stay back as we approach the stairs. We climb them and scan the area as we go. We reach the top and see this has also been converted.  There's a kitchen area, a big table with chairs and a few doors to the right. We don't see anyone here as we make our way more into the room. Suddenly carter comes flying out of one the rooms, he lands on his back and jumps up before charging back into the room. We all run towards him.

We run into a large Empty room, there's more dead men on the floor, Clara in stood in the right corner of the room, another woman in the left of room and carter is fighting with a wolf while Stuart is barking orders at the wolf.

The air is filled with energy and snapping as Carter is replaced by his wolf , his big brown wolf is almost drooling while he looks at Stuart

"What are waiting for! Kill him!!" Stuart screams at the group. A small scuffy wolf jumps at Carter. Carter doesn't waste time and meets the wolf in the air before landing ontop of him as soon as he does the witch to the left does the same thing pam done and shoots a light at Carter. He goes sliding across the room and slams into a wall

"Carter!!!" I scream and run into the room, I charge for the witch but Clara does the same thing to me as she done to Carter, pain fills my body. Stuart laughs as we try to stand but evie steps forward with a smug look on her face

"so you're an alpha huh?"

Stuart turns his attention to her "yeah. What's it got to do with you pretty lady?"

"Okay, Alpha to alpha I'm challenging you, right here, right now! No witches, no powers, no other wolves! Let's see how strong you are then big man!"

He bursts out laughing "you!! A small, fragile little woman is a alpha! Don't be so fucking stupid!!" He's doubled over laughing but the look on his face when evie shifts will probably be my funniest memory.  Her huge black wolf stands staring at him, her yellow eyes swirling with rage. His eyes are almost bulging out his head and his mouth is wide open.

I stand on shaky legs "Stuart, meet alpha joshs future sister in law, my cousin alpha evie of the wolf creek pack" I bow my head at evie as a mark of respect "do you accept her challenge"

"You two stay back. Don't do anything unless she tries to kill me!" Stuart orders the witches. He shifts into his wolf form but anyone can see his wolf is no match for evie.

He jumps on her and a fight breaks out. Josh and the others finally come to into the room they're all cut, bruised and covered in blood "what the fuck is going on!" Josh shouts but the two wolves fighting don't look his way, he goes to take a step forward and Clara does something to make him double over and sceam in pain.

"Noo!! What are you doing!" I scream and go to run but the other witch does the same to me and I'm suddenly feeling like I'm being stung by a thousand bees

"STOP!!!" The witches look behind josh and I see Samantha standing there, tears in her eyes

"Clara! Mary! Please stop hurting them!!!"

The pain stops and I see the two witches stood with tears in there eyes, I hear a yelp and see Stuarts taken a bite into evies shoulder,  before josh can stop her Shannon has shifted and Is ripping into stuarts wolf, there's now 3 wolves rolling around fighting, josh shifts and goes to jump in. I see the witches raise their hands before they drop to their knees and scream.  Shaun and pam have hands out casting a spell on them.

The wolves stop fighting when we hear a noise down stairs. Loads of banging and growling. Shit! We left a few downstairs!

Pam drops her hands and turns to the door, as she does Mary stands up and a bolt of light shoots from her and hits pam sending her flying into the wall, her body hits the floor with a thud and Shaun shouts and goes to delivery the deathly blow to Mary but Samantha jumps in the way and lands on the floor, Mary and Clara run over to her lifeless body and start screaming and crying

"nooo!!!! Sammy!!!! Wake up!!!"

Clara stands up and walks over to Stuarts wolf before punching him in the head "that's enough!!!!"

She's crying hard as she goes back to her sisters. Mary has Samantha's head in her lap and stroking her hair "no, no, no!"

"What have you done!!!" She screams at shuan who's white as a ghost "I..I.. I didn't mean to! You hurt pam!!"

"She isn't fucking dead though you asshole!!! Sam is too weak and young to take a blow like that off a witch as strong as you!!"

Clara does something that makes Shaun drop to his knees and scream in pain her eyes filled with anger and tears

We all standing watching. Not knowing what to do. We hear footsteps behind us and Carl approaches covered in blood "the rest are taken care of alpha but one of your men is seriously hurt"

Josh and Irene push past and run down stairs. Carter shifts back to this human form , his naked body getting everyone's attention "I think that's enough now!"

I turn my head to the sound of a door opening to the right end of the wall. I didn't even see it there, as a man steps out and points a gun at carter. Its like time has slwoed down as the bullet hits him in the shoulder and he falls to the ground, Carl tackles the man to the floor as I rush to carter and checj him he barely has a pulse

"noo! Stay with me carter!"

I hear Stuart laughing and I want to tear his throat out.
