Monday afternoon you were having your snack when Taylor broke the news to you:

- "When you're done, we're heading to the dentist, mom will meet us there"

- "What?" You said putting your fork down.

- "Yes, mom asked me to take you" Taylor shrugged taking a sip of her tea.

- "No Tay, I don't want to go" you said with tears welling in your eyes.

- "Baby, you were supposed to go like 3 months ago, they said you needed to go every two months for your fluoride treatment, and you haven't gone yet because many things happened...It will be fine"

- "Last time was brutal. What if have new decay?" You said terrified.

- "They'll fix it. Don't worry. You're doing what you can to be better" Taylor said looking at your food to encourage you to finish your snack.

- "Let's be honest... after that last appointment I didn't do what I could to be better for a while... what if...?" Your mind was going to the worst scenarios possible, and you were hyperventilating.

Taylor interrupted:

- "Stop it, Liz. I get that you're scared, your last experience was not the most pleasant one, but it's one of those things that needs to get done. It's better that if, there's any problems, they fix them now and not later" Taylor said holding your hand.

- "I'm terrified" you said after taking a big deep breath.

- "I know, I'll be holding your hand the entire time. I promise" Taylor said. - "I have an appointment too"

- "Ugh. Fine. Let's go" you said standing up.

- "Nice try, but you need to finish your snack first" Taylor said pointing to your plate, you still had 1/3 of your snack left.

- "I'm very anxious Tay, I can't eat anymore"

- "Doesn't matter. Eat up" Taylor said firmly.

- "Tay..."

- "No Lizzie, we can't argue about food. You know the rules" she said, then she added - "I know that you're feeling anxious, and you want to control what you can, but food is not it" she said sympathetically.

You sat down again - "you're right. Sorry"

- "It's okay. It's important that you start noticing when these things happen, but while you can do it, I'm here to point them out" Taylor said as you battled to finish your snack.

Soon enough you were sitting in the front passenger's seat wiggling anxiously your leg, Taylor patting it to calm you down. When you got there you saw your mom's car parked and you breathed deep before stepping out of the car. Your mom was already sitting in the waiting room, and she greeted you. You said that you were going to the bathroom and while in there you opened wide your mouth in front of the mirror to look at your teeth, trying to spot anything that may be concerning, but of course you were not a dentist and you saw nothing. Back in the waiting room Andrea asked Taylor:

- "How is she about the appointment?"

- "Incredibly anxious. She said she didn't want to come; she's terrified of needing more work done. She even tried to get out of finishing her snack" Taylor replied.

- "I imagined it'd be like this...let's hope there's nothing wrong this time" Andrea said.

You were back and were quickly called back. Your legs were shaking, and Taylor and your mom nudged you into the chair. They both sat by your feet.

- "Hello Elizabeth! We haven't seen each other in a long time!" The dentist said.

- "Hi" you replied shyly.
