You woke up at the hour you normally would do to go to school. You were so tired; it was the end of the school trimester, and you had tons of homework and studying to do each day. You opened your eyes and with all your efforts stood up and walked to the bathroom, your stomach was hurting a bit, but you ignored it. You brushed your hair and carefully removed some knots, just to notice -again- that your hair was still falling in clumps, although you were maintaining a healthy weight. It was frustrating, how come it was still falling this much? You have always had thick abundant hair, but now it was brittle and opaque. You cleaned your brush, undressed and prepared to go into the shower to wash your hair. You shampooed and softly massaged your scalp under the hot water. After you were done you dried off with a towel and threw on your uniforms, then you went downstairs to find Taylor and your mom having coffee.
- "Hey darling! How did you sleep?" Andrea asked kissing you.
- "I slept well, although I'm still tired and I have this stomachache... but nothing to worry about, it's probably just the nerves. How about you?" You replied.
- "I slept well, thanks sweetie. You've been so busy with school, but it's almost spring break" your mom said.
- "Speaking of which... you know that I need to fly to Europe for some commitments in about 2 weeks, but I was thinking that maybe we could spend your spring break together, have a little trip and then I can go. What do you think about it?" Taylor suggested. Now that you were better, Taylor was traveling more often, and she was even preparing her next album and tour.
- "Yeahhh! That's awesome! I just gotta survive this week. I'm a bit nervous about my Spanish test today, I also have a biology quiz. But I think studied a lot and I'll be able to answer everything" you said sitting down to eat your breakfast.
- "Don't push too hard on yourself, darling. You need to rest too, are you sure that your stomachache is nothing?" Andrea said handing you the plate. You just nodded quietly and started eating. They always told you not to push too hard on yourself, but you felt like if you didn't try your absolute best, you were average or mediocre; and you didn't want that, you wanted to be the best you could.
You ate your breakfast and walked to the school bus station thinking of the possible questions you could get on your tests. When you got to school, you walked to your classroom, now you were in the same classroom as your best friends, and it was amazing. You greeted Lou, who was already there and chatted for a while until Erin arrived, then you waited for the first class to start: English. The Spanish test was right before the first recess and the biology quiz right after the it. Your stomach was hurting more as the hours passed and you thought it was the anxiety building up as the tests were closer. When it was time for your Spanish test you felt your fingers going numb, you started to panic, so you asked the teacher for permission to go quickly to the bathroom.
- "Elizabeth, the test is starting now" the teacher said in a sharp tone.
- "I know, I'm sorry, I'll take three minutes" you replied.
- "Fine, but I'm handing out the papers now. The time you take in the bathroom is time that you'll lose, I'm not giving you extra time to complete the test" the teacher claimed.
- "Okay, got it. Thank you" you said and ran to the bathroom, closed the door and opened the tap. You placed your hands under the cold water and did some breathing exercises to calm yourself down. Within a couple of minutes, you felt better and returned running to the classroom. The students were teacher handed you the test and you sat to answer it, although you were nervous about the time you had left, considering you also needed to write a text, you felt confident and were able to finish it on time, you even had time to review what you had written.
