You woke up after a peaceful night of sleeping, went downstairs and found your mom and Taylor drinking their coffee.

- "Good morning, darling" Your mom said as you approached to hug her.

- "Good morning" you said now hugging Taylor.

- "How did you sleep baby?" Your sister asked.

- "SOOO good. I'm definitely heading back to sleep after I finish breakfast" you replied

- "Darling, you have your orthodontist appointment, remember? You need to get the impressions done for your new retainer" Andrea said standing up to serve breakfast.

- "That's today? Ugh" you groaned.

- "You'll be fine!" Taylor said rolling her eyes.

You turned to your big sister: - "Why'd you had to break my retainer; you know I hate getting impressions done" you grunted.

- "There is probably no one that likes getting impressions done. Stop whining and eat" Taylor replied rolling her eyes.

- "Why you gotta be so mean? Why is she so mean, mom?" You said laughing.

- "Do not quote me, you know I hate it" Taylor replied laughing too "besides, I'm not mean. I'm realistic. You need to eat"

- "You both stop it" Andrea said giggling, then she turned to you "she's right. Eat"

You sat down and made your way through breakfast while chatting. Then you went upstairs, showered, changed and read while waiting for your mom to tell you it was time to go. You hopped on the car and within 25 minutes were sitting down in the waiting room, while your mom checked you in. Then she came back and sat by your side. You started to feel anxious.

- "Mom, what if the orthodontist says something about my weight gain? You know I got my braces off right before that awful Christmas... my body has changed A LOT...I haven't seen him in all this time...." you said panicking and your breathing accelerated.

Your mother put one of your hands between hers and rubbed them gently - "It's okay, sweetheart. He probably won't mention it at all. You're healthier now, that's all that matters"

You gulped and nodded, worrying excessively of what the orthodontist's thoughts were going to be. Ten minutes later you were called to the office and your mom held your hand while walking inside.

- "Hello Elizabeth, how's it been?" He asked.

- "Good, thanks" you replied trying to read his expression. Was he thinking about your body? But he was just smiling kindly.

- "So, I can see that you made the appointment because your upper retainer broke. Right?" He said leading you to the chair and looking at some paperwork you filled when you arrived. You nodded. - "How long ago did this happen?"

- "About two weeks ago I think..." you replied positioning in the chair.

- "Okay, did you bring the broken retainer and the lower one? Have you been wearing the lower one?" You nodded again and your mom took out of her bag the retainer's case and handed it to him. - "Let's take a look, I'd like to see if we need to do another lower retainer or if this is working just fine" he said lowering the chair flat.

You opened your mouth, and he started to look around.

- "Okay, I can see some problems... as well as a slight shifting of some of the teeth, nothing major. But I'd like to take some x-rays because I think that the shifting might be caused by your wisdom teeth development and not only because of not wearing the retainer. The last X-rays we have from you are from about two years ago"
