POV: Adeline
Evane woke me up unnecessarily early this morning to start teaching me to swim.
Normally I would pout until she let me lie in more but I really do want to learn to swim and it's unlikely that many people will be up so well have it to ourselves.
With us both in our swimming costumes, Evane leads me downstairs, opening the glass sliding doors that lead out to the pool. I trail behind her as she places down our towels before taking my hand and leading me towards the steps into the water.
At just the sight of it I can feel my heartbeat picking up, recalling the feeling of being under the water and unable to breathe without water flooding my lungs.
Her hands hold my bare waist, gently pulling me into the water one step at a time until it reaches my hips and I need to pause because of how shockingly cold it is. Wanting to get it over with, I crouch in the water until it reaches my shoulders, quickly acclimatising to the water.
"Good girl. You're doing so well already, Addie," Evane coos.
"I'm only standing in the water," I reply, not seeing what's making her so proud already.
"I know. But yesterday you were to nervous to even put a toe in, so you've already improved," she explains, a smile over her lips as she pulls me closer to her, spinning us around in the water.
I give her a small kiss, wrapping my arms over her shoulders.
"What first?"
Evane starts by making me float on my back, which takes a while because I'm too scared that I'll sink or have my face go under the water. We eventually manage though just as Evane's mother steps outside, asking what we're doing.
That seems like the perfect cue for us to stop for today and to finally get some breakfast since my stomach has been rumbling since I woke up.
I wrap my towel over my shoulders after drying off most of myself, glad that the air is warm so I dry off quite quickly before going inside. Ma hired a private chef to cook for everyone and he's laid out a massive spread of foods that make my mouth water.
Evane insists we go upstairs and change into dry clothes first. I whine a little bit agree, rushing upstairs to our room to change into a skirt that goes to my mid thigh and a loose fitting shirt, dumping my wet bikini into the bath before rushing downstairs to get some breakfast.
The chef gladly passes me a plate, giving me free reign to take whatever I want from the buffet he's arranged.
I collect some slices of bacon and a spoonful of scrambled eggs, adding a small portion of cooked mushrooms on the side since I've come to really like them.
As I sit down at the table, a few more people come downstairs, their hair all messy from sleep and still in their pyjamas. They all yawn and the humans tiredly gather up breakfast onto their plates before joining me at the table.
I've already finished my first plate by the time they're half way through theirs, getting up to get some warm waffles and fresh fruits.
"Good morning, Addie," Mia yawns as she sits beside me with her plate.
"Do you want to go down to the beach after breakfast?" I request.
Mia nods. "Yep. I need to wake up a little more first, but then we can go down to the beach and go in the sea. There's a beach a short walk along that will have some shells, if you'd like?"
I nod, wanting to explore more of the area since Ma hasn't planned to go to the local town until tomorrow so we can go shopping and eat out at a local place she couldn't stop recommending.
