"What's wrong?" Owen instantly asked as he took in the fury on the men's faces.

"Monica and Cedric," Victor said as he rolled his neck to try and release some of the tension.

"Would you care to elaborate any further?" Owen asked as he straightened his tie.

"Elaborate on what?" North asked as he and Silas entered the room.

Brandon glanced around, making sure that everyone was there before he spoke, "Just before we followed you we heard a female say something about making a mutt sick." He waited until the angry growls quieted before he continued.

"I got it recorded," Victor admitted as he held up his hand holding the phone. "It's compelling to say the least."

"I'll take that," Corey replied as he took the phone out of Victor's hand and walked over to his desk where his laptop was. A moment later the group listened to the conversation.

"I'm going to hurl," Marc muttered as he sat his cup of coffee down on the counter.

"How do we go about showing this to Heidi?" Silas asked. "I mean this will help show her we were deceived and then we can start to repair our relationship. But how are we going to get her to listen to it?"

"Hey Bunny," Gabe said as he pushed off the wall, eyes focused past a few of the men. "Did you have a nice nap?"

"Mmmmm," she whimpered as she rubbed her eyes.

"You didn't take a long nap," he stated softly as he pulled her sweater covered hands away from her eyes. "Want me to lay down with you while you finish your nap?" She pouted and wrapped her arms around his neck. He let slip a smirk as he picked her up and carried her back to her room. Sitting on the bed, he scooted over to the middle and laid down so her head was resting on his chest. Humming gently, he trailed his hand up and down her back in a soothing manner. Within moments he felt her relax into his hold, her hands clutching his shirt even in her sleep. Placing a soft kiss to the top of her head, he continued rubbing her back. Whatever else they were talking about, he would find out later. This was more important.

His mind swirled as he tried to figure out what to do next. He knew he needed to tread carefully when it came to Heidi. She was more complex than he originally thought. And the fact that she was clinging to him of all people? He couldn't believe it and yet here she was in his arms. Guilt filled him with memories of how he and the rest of the group treated her. His hold on her tightened at the thought of her walking away from them forever.

A whimper startled him out of his thoughts, causing him to loosen his grip on her slightly. "Sorry Bunny," he whispered as he blinked back tears.

"You okay?" Luke whispered. Gabe lifted his head to see his best friend and lover standing in the doorway. Damn Luke and his silent ways he thought as he watched him walk over to the bed still as quiet as a ghost. Luke sat next to him after slipping off his shoes and leaned his head to rest next to Gabe's. "It's not going to be easy but we will show her how sorry we are and do whatever it takes to earn her forgiveness, Gabe," Luke whispered. "We'll prove we are worthy of her and Liam, promise."

"Been fucking talking to Axel and Silas again?" Gabe whispered as he forced himself not to roll his eyes.

"Nope," Luke smirked. "Just know you."

"Fuck off," Gabe gave in and rolled his eyes. "You're going to wake her."

"I'll go make them something to eat," Luke kissed Gabe's temple before quietly getting off the bed and headed for the door. "If we want to have dinner at home, they can't sleep much longer."

"Got it," Gabe whispered as he felt her shift. He started rubbing her back, causing her to relax into him once more. The road ahead of them was going to be hard, of that he had no doubt and he was certain there would be times that he and them would be very tested, but he also was certain that it would be worth it.

Shuffling had him turning his head to where Liam lay in his bed. "Shhh, Liam, Sissy is still sleeping," Gabe whispered as the little boy sat up.

"Why?" he whispered back with wide eyes as he took in Gabe holding his sister.

"You both fell asleep in the car," he explained as the child got on the bed and sat next to him. "You had a busy day and needed the nap but I think Sissy needs to nap a little longer."

"Hi Hi be busy wots," Liam nodded before frowning at him. "Hi Hi scare of you."
