Heidi Davis' life was going great, she was in the school of her dreams and was top of her class. Well, aside from her academic rival Dakota Lee, that is. He was her only competition when it came to being the best of the school. Then she got that cal...
"Pretty Belle room," she mumbled as she played with the ends of the sleeves of Gabe's hoodie since she was wearing it.
"You're welcome to use Belle's room anytime you want," Kota said. "There's a desk on both floors and the fireplace keeps both floors warm. There's even a pillow pile on the top floor by the window seat that's comfy."
Her eyes widened in surprise before she looked back at her shoes, "K thanks," she whispered softly that he almost missed it.
"How about we give you that tour now and we end up choosing rooms and then meet up in the living room once everyone is done? From there we can decide what to do next or simply relax and watch a movie," Victor advised as he looked at everyone and ended his gaze on Heidi as she nibbled on the jacket sleeve already looking to the stairs.
"How does that sound, Heidi?" Sean asked as he took a couple steps forward in hopes her gaze would shift to him again.
"Huh? Oh, yes, that's fine," she whispered as her eyes enlarged before going relaxed again.
"I'll go make some snacks and get started on a grocery list," Luke said as he headed toward the kitchen before stopping to look at Heidi. "Do you want anything specific, Cupcake? I saw you didn't touch your snacks in the car that Liam got you."
"Huh?" She asked before shaking her head, "no those will be fine. Just not hungry right now."
"Okay, well if you want anything let me know and I'll grab it at the store if we don't already have it."
"Mhmm," she nodded before smiling as Liam raced to her. "Hey."
"Pool sooo big," he bounced. "Nafin show me they hab toys Hi Hi!"
"Wow," she gasped.
"Yep yep, but me no go near it wifout Nafin, Siwis, and you. Me pinkied pomis."
"That's good," she smiled. "Luke went to get snacks if you're getting hungry. I'm going to find us a room and get settled, okay?"
"Me go help," Liam beamed as he took off to the kitchen.
"Come on," Gabe said as he cautiously put his hand on Heidi's lower back once she turned back to the stairs. "Let's go find you and Lil Dude the perfect room for you."
"K," she murmured. Gabe threw a quick glance back at the group and Sean briefly nodded, causing Gabe to let out a low sigh. "How do I know..." she trailed off as she clutched the ends of the sleeves again.
"Ask," he pushed.
"How do I know which rooms are whose?" she mumbled before covering her face. "Don't want to accidentally walk into the wrong room."
"Hey," he stopped them and turned her to face him. Chuckling, he pulled her hands away from her face. "There's no need to fucking worry about it. I have signs that I can put on all our fucking doors so you won't get mixed up. I have signs from when Kota's little sis would come fucking visit before she learned the layout. I'll just put them back up, no big deal."
Her eyes widened for a second, "you're back."
He chuckled, "Yeah, yeah, come on."
He showed her each of the bedrooms and she smiled softly when she saw how each room for the men was how she imagined. Owen's room was filled with grays, Sean's had purples, North's had black, Nathan's was filled with reds, Silas' had dark blues, Gabe's was in bright orange, Luke's was done baby blues, Kota's had hunter greens, Victor's had silvers, Corey's was in yellows, Raven's had browns, Brandon's had dark reds, Axel's was in olive green, and Marc's was filled with blues. She caught glimpses of things that they were passionate about too when she glanced around. Each one was fitted perfectly for them and while she was pleased to see that, it also filled her with longing which confused her. She needed some time to process everything. What would it be like to have a room that completely fit who she was? Every room she had ever had was kept plain and clean. Now that she thought about it, she never really decorated a room until Liam came to stay with her at the dorm. Was that because no place really felt like a true home?
"This room is next to me and across from Luke," Gabe said, snapping her out of her wandering thoughts. "We were eventually going to turn it into a spare office or something but for now it's just been Kota's sister's old room. She chose a different room downstairs so you don't have to worry about taking it from her. And if you don't like it, we have other guest rooms you can choose from." She nodded just before he pushed the door open.
A gasp left her as tears filled her eyes and her hand went over her mouth. It was as if he plucked the room straight from her mind, it was something she always wanted but could never allow herself to imagine. It was a mix of soft blues and purples with a mural of a castle and kingdom painted on one wall. The bed was a four post bed with a white sheer canopy covering it. There were fairy lights strung over the top of the bedframe and along the top of the room to give it a fairytale feeling.

There was a daybed along one of the walls too that Liam could sleep on while they were there. It was perfect, absolutely perfect. A tear slipped down her face as her brain reminded her that it was only hers temporarily.
