I twirled in my seat, deep in thoughts. Last night was kinda...weird. It was like that one night in Washington, I looked up at Jeffrey who was standing put in my office.
Today, he didn't seem to want to stay in the lobby but in my office, there was a knock on the door and I looked up, Kourtney popped in. "What's up, boss?" She has been so chirpy today.
I turned back to the table, "nothing, did you get the reports?" I asked and she placed them down on the table, still with that big smile on her face.
I know she wanted me to ask what was up but I've been doing a great job ignoring it. "So, when did it—"
"Alright, I'll spill it!" She exclaimed, I and Jeffrey both looked up at her. "Davis asked me out to dinner last night!" She announced and that took me aback but I didn't show it.
"Great, so when are we gonna get the rest of the account from—"
"Are you kidding?" She took the seat opposite me, "this is what you wanted and that's the reaction you give?"
As far as I'm glad Davis took my suggestions seriously, he also told me not to interfere, I honestly understand what he meant, the pressure was real.
"That's a great change of pace for you both, how about that?" I asked and she sighed before asking, "Are you okay?"
"What's up with that question?!" I exclaimed. "You're fine then, so can I leave early to prepare?" She asked excitedly.
I can't possibly sabotage something I've been working on for weeks now. "Sure, send Bethany in, we gotta—"
"Did you forget? You gave her a day off" she mentioned and my eyes shot open immediately. "What?"
"Bye!" She made a run for it before I could stop her, I sighed and raked my hair. Of course, I gave her a day off yesterday, what was I thinking?
I promised Aiden a drink this evening, I had to leave early too. I sighed and flipped through the pages of the report, something was still bugging me at the back of my mind.
I looked up at the statue in my office, he wouldn't oblige to leave.

The car pulled over in front of Tripple and I glanced out the window. "Jeffrey, drive around. I'll call you when I'm done" I told him before stepping out of the car.
Today I wore a mini black dress with an open back and sleeves, I hung my bag over my shoulder and headed into the building, Jeffrey driving out at the same time.
Smiles making way to our faces as we saw each other, he was at the bar with a drink in hand, I walked to him, "cheater"
He chuckled at the name and I took the stool beside. "This is my first glass"
"And I'm supposed to believe that?" I asked and he smiled. "I'll make it up to you, let me buy your first drink"
"I'll go subtle today, and if you also make a joke about my drinking habits, I'm gonna smack" I said and he raised his hand in surrender and I placed my order.
I sighed once I took a sip of the drink, "you look beautiful this evening" he admired
"Aiden, don't begin"
"Well, I have to state facts. Travis is really lucky to have you" he stated, you could say that again.
"What about you? Any special someone in your life?" I asked and he chuckled and took another gulp from his glass. "What do you think?"
"You are good looking enough to score some more hot chicks" I replied and he laughed. "I scored you, I guess"
"Yeah but you weren't fast enough to put the ring on my finger" I mentioned, wiggling my hands to show off ring. "Is it too late though?" He asked, grabbing a hold of my hand and staring down at it.
