Chapter 102-The Ground Rules

He came to see me.

What is that supposed to mean? Why would he show up out of the blue to see me? He didn't even pass any important information. How did he get the address of the house?

I have been jumbling all this thoughts in my head since last night and this morning.

"Pearl" Bella called out to me and I returned back to reality. "Yeah, what's up?"

"What's up is that you didn't listen to a word I said, you just zoned out" she replied and I sighed and twirled the straw in my drink. "I was listening"

"Alright, so what was I talking about?" She asked, leaning on the table and honestly I had nothing. "You see, you zoned out" she stated.

"Alright, I did. I was just thinking about work, there's a wedding at the end of the month" I explained. "Wedding, do you really love them?" She asked, "they are good way to make money"

"How's Travis? Is he back?" She asked, mixing her drink. "Not yet, it's a big project" I answered.

"So, what do you think about the place we checked out?" She asked. "It was good, I loved the location, right at the heart of the city "

"Right? I loved it too. Should I get it?"

"If you want to"

She squealed and pulled out her phone. So, I spent this Thursday looking for a location for Bella's restaurant and as you can see, we've gotten one. I was happy for her, she was finally back out there doing her own things.

My phone beeped and I got it out, Kourtney just texted to inform me that Mr and Mrs Nelson had arrived. "Bella... I gotta go"

"Okay, let's leave then. I gotta meet with my agent anyways, there is a lot to be done" she replied, getting up and I did too, grabbing my bag beside.

Today I wore a brown leather dress and a white top. "Pearl" someone called and I turned around, "Aiden"

He stood there all in a navy blue suit, he pulled out a smile and walked forward to us. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm having lunch with someone. What about you? We didn't get to talk at the founders ball, you and Travis...left early"

"Yes, we did" I agreed and Bella cleared her throat from beside me, "This is my sister Bella" I introduced

"I guess good looks does run in the family" he commented and she chuckled, "Nice to meet you, Mr..."

"Miller, Aiden Miller"

"Bella Wayne" they introduced themselves. "Nice to meet you" he said before turning to me. "Well, I have to head back to the office"

"I know how much you love working" he replied and Bella laughed while I pulled out a smile, "Bye Miller" we began heading out.

I glanced back at him as he walked to the table, "Who's that?" Bella asked once we got outside, "didn't you guys introduce yourselves to each other?"

"Who is he to you?" She broadened as we got into the car. "A friend "

In moments, I was walking into the conference room and the couple looked up at me. "Mr and Mrs Nelson, I'm sorry for the delay" I apologized

"It's no problem" Quinn answered and I took my seat opposite them. "You must be, Mr Nelson" I referred to the man beside her.

"Nice to meet you, Mrs Vega. I heard you'll be willing to get us married in 2 weeks" he said, "I'll try. I just wanted you here to make sure you are onboard with all this"

"Of course, I am. I know how stressful my family can be, they won't want this to happen but whatever makes her happy" he replied, glancing at her, she smiled.
