I took a sip of the tea and glanced up at the empty seat opposite me. I honestly can't remember when last he was home, it's been a while and it was for the better...

...there have been no arguments ever since.

I sighed and placed down the glass. I glanced outside to the garden. It was morning and I was still seated at the dining have coffee, the time read past 8 am and it was even a surprise to me that I was getting ready for the office.

I was soaking up the peace that dwelt in the house, I took another sip and sighed. "Is there anything else you want, Mrs Ferrari?" Evelyn asked, bringing my attention back to her.

I had forgotten she was here also.

"Don't worry, Evelyn. Could you send some flowers over to Jeffrey at the hospital? It's been a while I have visited" I requested.

"Of course" with that she left and I raked my hair. Picking up my phone, I went through my schedule for today.

The Nelson's wedding was in 4 days, this Saturday, I still had to attend Tatiana's engagement dinner this evening.

That one I wasn't down to attend but I had to choice, it was part of my work.

I laid down my phone and sighed, also in my schedule for the week, I was supposed to join Bella to check out the new site, we had plans of fixing up the place.

I wondered if she was still going through with that, Mother had found out and she wasn't too elated, I knew she was gonna lecture her and call off all the plans we've made.

That was what Derrick wanted.

I felt bad for Bella honestly but he was right, I should stop meddling.

I stepped out of the house in a black ensemble, a black mini skirt and its matching blazer and a little black bag. My phone began ringing and I glanced down at it, it was Aunt Lucy calling.

I answered, "Good morning, Aunt Lucy"

"Pearl, how are you doing?" She asked as Abel pulled the door open for me, I got in. "I'm good, you?" I inquired, placing my bag beside.

"I'm fine, Pearl. I just wanted to inform you on the 10 years anniversary coming up" she said and my face squinched in confusion. Abel shut the car as he got in and we drove out.

"What 10 years anniversary"

"I knew you forgot" she muttered before answering, "Vision Co." She referred to my Mother's enterprise and I let out an inward sigh.

"What about it?" I asked, even though I knew what it was about. "It's this Monday, I thought you'd gotten an invite"

"I didn't and I'm thankful for that, save yourself the stress, Aunt Lucy. I'm not attending " I made it clear. "Pearl-"

"She doesn't want me there, if she did, I would have gotten an invite and I'm not asking for it" I then let out an exasperated sigh.

"Honestly, Aunt Lucy, I miss how things were before Bella's wedding, it was less troubling and not eventful and I'm sure everyone will appreciate my absence!" I finished, letting out a sigh before falling back on my seat.

There was silence before she said, "Pearl..."

"Aunt Lucy, I didn't mean to-"

"I'm so sorry" she said, her voice above a whisper and I paused, "I'm so sorry you feel that way, I'm so sorry you get treated like that. I wish there was something I could do to take the pain away, I wish I could make you feel better" she admitted, letting out a breath.
