The practice room was brighter than usual, not because of the overhead lights but because of the chaotic energy radiating from Enhypen in their fruit costumes. It was a special day—time to film the long-requested dance practice for Chamber 5 (Dream of Dreams) in their iconic fruit-themed outfits.
Heeseung adjusted his apple suit, the plush costume making his every move slightly exaggerated. Jay, in his watermelon attire, flexed dramatically, showing off how "strong" his fruit muscles were. Jake, as an orange, twirled to test his range of motion, while Jungwon’s mango suit made him look too adorable for his leaderly scolds to carry any weight. Niki’s grape bunch costume made him cackle every time the fake grapes wobbled, and Sunghoon’s blueberry outfit, sleek yet undeniably amusing, made him look like a fashionable berry king.
But none of them could outshine the true star of the show.
In the center of the chaos stood Sunoo, encased in a peach costume so fluffy and round that his cheeks were squished adorably by the peach-shaped headdress. His radiant, slightly pouty expression peeked out like a living, breathing emoji.
“Why does Sunoo look this good even in a peach suit?” Jay muttered under his breath, leaning against the mirror as he watched Sunoo adjust his costume.
“Look good?” Heeseung scoffed, trying to sound indifferent but failing as his eyes lingered on Sunoo. “He’s stealing the spotlight without even trying.”
Sunoo, oblivious to their stares, tilted his head, causing the plush peach around his face to bounce slightly. “Does my costume look okay? It feels a bit… tight.” He pouted, pressing his hands to his cheeks, which only made him look squishier.
Jake was the first to respond, stepping closer as if to inspect. “You look… peachy perfect, Sunoo. Seriously.” His grin was so wide that the other members collectively groaned.
“Could you not with the puns?” Jungwon said, though his own cheeks were pinker than usual as Sunoo’s wide eyes turned to him. “I mean, it’s fine. You look fine. Great, even!” He quickly turned away, tugging at his mango leaf collar.
As the music started, everyone scrambled into position. Despite their teasing and lighthearted banter, the members were professionals. Or so they thought.
As the choreography began, it quickly became apparent that no one could focus.
Jay, in his watermelon outfit, stumbled over a step as Sunoo twirled in front of him, the peach suit bouncing slightly. “How does he make that look graceful?” Jay muttered, earning a glare from Jungwon, who had been momentarily distracted by the same thing.
Niki, ever the troublemaker, burst into laughter mid-dance. “Hyung, stop being so cute! It’s illegal!” he shouted, breaking character completely.
Sunghoon, whose blueberry costume somehow managed to look regal, missed his cue entirely as he watched Sunoo adjust his headpiece during a spin. He shook his head, muttering, “This is impossible. Who told him to look this good in a fruit costume?”
Heeseung, trying to remain professional, found his gaze drifting to Sunoo every few beats. “Focus, Heeseung,” he whispered to himself, though his resolve weakened every time Sunoo's soft laughter filled the room.
As the song ended, the members collapsed into laughter and light complaints.
“I couldn’t even look at the camera!” Jake said, gesturing wildly. “How am I supposed to focus when Sunoo’s just… there?!”
“You were all staring!” Sunoo finally piped up, crossing his arms, which only made him look even more like a pouty peach. “Am I that distracting?”
