Sunoo had always been the little sunshine of ENHYPEN. His bright smile, gentle heart, and innocent nature made him the perfect brother figure in the group. But what Sunoo didn’t know was that his members—his beloved hyungs and his two maknaes —were starting to feel something a little more than brotherly affection for him.
It started innocently enough. Sunoo had always been the one to shower the others with love, giving them random hugs and always flashing a smile. He didn’t think twice about it—it was just Sunoo being Sunoo. But his members... well, they started to feel something deeper. Something they weren't quite sure how to express without making things awkward.
One evening, after practice, Sunoo was sitting on the couch in the dorm, humming softly as he fiddled with his phone. His head rested on the cushion, his legs tucked under him like a little bean. He looked so adorable that it was almost impossible for his members to ignore how their hearts fluttered every time they looked at him.
Jay, who was standing by the kitchen counter, watched Sunoo from a distance, feeling a tug in his chest. “He’s so cute… I don’t know how much longer I can act normal around him,” he muttered under his breath.
Heeseung, who had been sitting beside Sunoo just moments ago, seemed to share the same sentiment. His hand brushed the back of his neck nervously. “I thought I was just being protective, but… the way he looks at me, the way he smiles, it makes my heart race,” he admitted quietly to Jake, who was sprawled out on the opposite side of the room.
Jake raised an eyebrow, shifting his position to get a better look at Sunoo. “You too, huh?” He chuckled softly. “I thought it was just me.”
Sunghoon, who had been listening in, rolled his eyes. “You guys are hopeless. You all know we’re just supposed to treat him like a little brother, right?” But even as he said it, there was a softness in his eyes when he glanced at Sunoo.
“Yeah, right,” Jungwon said, walking in from the hallway. His expression was a little more serious than the others, but there was an undeniable longing in his gaze as he looked at Sunoo. “We all know he’s more than just a brother now…”
Later that night, Sunoo was lounging in the living room, his favorite blanket wrapped around his shoulders. His members had started to gather around him, all of them hovering, yet trying their best to act casual. They could all feel the growing tension between them, but none of them knew how to address it without making things awkward.
Niki, who usually tried to be playful, couldn’t stop his hand from brushing against Sunoo’s back as he sat next to him. “You’re so warm, Sunoo hyung. Can I have a hug?” He leaned in, his cheek resting on Sunoo’s shoulder for a moment, as if he needed the comfort more than he was letting on.
Sunoo smiled and shrugged, completely oblivious. “Of course, Niki! I love hugs!” He wrapped his arms around Niki, squeezing him tightly.
The rest of the members watched, their eyes fixed on the scene, their hearts beating a little faster than usual. Was this... normal? Why did they all feel so possessive, so protective over Sunoo? And why did they all want to be the ones to hold him, to spoil him, to keep him close?
The next day, they were all gathered in the living room again, trying to focus on their practice schedules. Sunoo had just come out of the kitchen, holding a cup of tea and balancing it carefully in his hands. His members, all deep in conversation, stopped the moment they saw him.
Heeseung was the first to speak, his voice unusually soft. “Sunoo, you’re so cute when you make tea. I could watch you do that all day.”
Sunoo blinked at him, completely unaware of the depth behind Heeseung's words. “Really? I didn’t know you liked it so much, hyung!” He laughed, his voice sweet and innocent.
Jay, who had been silently observing from the couch, couldn't help himself. He stood up quickly and walked over to Sunoo, his hand brushing lightly against his cheek. “You know, you look so peaceful when you drink tea. It’s like you’ve got this aura around you that makes everything better.” His heart pounded in his chest, but he kept his tone light. "You should drink it more often."
Sunoo giggled, taking a sip of his tea. “Thank you, Jay hyung! You guys always say the nicest things!”
Jungwon, who had been standing nearby, took a step closer, his voice lower than usual. “You’re really something else, Sunshine . It’s impossible not to want to take care of you.”
Sunoo smiled up at him, his eyes twinkling with innocence. “I’m just me, Wonie! Thanks for always looking out for me!”
The way Sunoo was looking at him—so sweet, so trusting—made Jungwon’s chest tighten. But he shook his head, trying to refocus. “I just want to make sure you’re always happy, Sunshine. That’s all.”
That night, as they were all getting ready for bed, Sunoo was tucked under his blanket, already half-asleep. His hyungs and the two maknaes hovered by his door, looking in at him like he was the most precious thing in the world.
“He’s just too pure,” Sunghoon said softly, his voice filled with affection. "How can someone so innocent and pure be so perfect?"
“I don’t know if I can keep pretending it’s just brotherly love anymore,” Heeseung confessed. “It feels like something else. Every time I see him smile at me, I feel like I’m falling harder."
Jay nodded, glancing at Sunoo from the door. “He’s just too perfect. I want to be the one to take care of him, to be the one who always makes him smile.”
Jake sighed, leaning against the doorframe. “It’s not just you. We all feel it.”
Niki leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. “But does he know? Does he realize that we all love him... like this?”
Sunghoon looked at Niki, his expression serious. “No, he doesn’t. Sunoo’s too innocent to understand that we’re treating him this way not just because he’s our little brother and your brother *looking at both the maknaes beside him* —but because we all have feelings for him. I don’t know how to explain it to him without ruining everything.”
Jungwon sighed. "He's just so oblivious. But I can’t help it. I can’t stop feeling this way about him."
They all fell silent for a moment, looking at the sleeping Sunoo. The innocent little bean who had no idea that his members were all falling for him, in a way that was so much more than just friendship.
For now, they would just watch over him, making sure he was happy, even if it meant keeping their feelings to themselves. Because they all knew one thing for sure—Sunoo was the light of their lives, and they'd do anything to protect that light.
And maybe, just maybe, one day, Sunoo would realize how much more his members cared for him than he could ever imagine.
