It’s 2 AM, the time when Jay and Heeseung’s minds go wild with random thoughts. Sunoo, always the light sleeper, stirs as his phone vibrates, signaling that his two boyfriends are deep into one of their usual 2 AM yapping sessions.
He smiles fondly, unlocking his phone to see a string of messages from both of them.
Heeseung:
“How do vampires always look so neat and tidy if they can’t see themselves in the mirror? Like, how do they know their hair's not a mess?”Jay:
“Hmm, and what does my mirror look like when I’m not looking at it? Like, does it show a different version of me? That’s weird…”Sunoo chuckles softly. He’s always so fond of the way his boyfriends think, especially in the dead of night. He knows it’s time to join in on the fun, so he taps on their group chat.
Sunoo:
“Good morning, my sleepyheads. 💤 So, what’s on your mind, babies? Tell me more about it.”He waits for a moment, hearing the faintest giggles from his boyfriends before his phone rings. The call connects, and both Heeseung and Jay scream in excitement. Their voices blend in a way that always makes Sunoo’s heart flutter.
"Love! You're awake!" Heeseung’s voice rings with giddiness. “You wouldn’t believe this—what if your reflection is a version of you that you don’t even know?”
Jay chimes in almost immediately, his voice just as excited. “Or maybe your reflection’s living its own life when you’re not looking! Imagine if your mirror had its own thoughts and dreams!”
Sunoo leans back, grinning as he listens. "So what's on your mind, babies? Tell me more about it."
He hears both of them giggle again, and the sound sends warmth flooding through him.
“Oh, and my babies,” Sunoo adds, voice teasing yet loving. “It’s always 2 AM that you yap about things, and I love it when you yap a lot. So yap more, tell me more about it, and I would gladly listen.”
Jay and Heeseung let out a soft scream of joy, their excitement bubbling over.
“Sunoo, you have to be in on this!” Heeseung exclaims, practically bouncing on the bed. “Okay, so what if there’s a parallel universe where every choice we make gets split into two different lives? Like, for every decision, there's another me living out the other version of it…”
“And maybe,” Jay cuts in, voice cracking with excitement, “our reflections are the ones that are really living in the parallel universe! They get to experience everything we do, but we never know!”
Sunoo can practically hear their minds racing as they continue.
Before Sunoo can respond, the sound of a loud thump shakes the room. It’s followed by a burst of giggles and the sound of bodies collapsing onto the bed. The poor mattress creaks under the weight of two excited boys.
“Oh my god, you guys are crazy,” Sunghoon says from the other room, a mix of amusement and exasperation in his tone. “What happened?”
"Nothing," Jay and Heeseung say in unison, their voices muffled but still full of giddy laughter. “Just... a little too much excitement, that’s all!”
Sunoo can’t help but smile, feeling a rush of fondness for his two rambunctious lovers. He lies back in bed, content and happy, knowing that despite the chaos of their late-night conversations, he wouldn't change a thing.
“Well,” Sunoo chuckles softly, “just try not to break anything, okay?”
From the other room, there's a soft "We won’t!" before the muffled sounds of more giggles fill the air, followed by a few more thumps as they continue to roll around in their excitement.
