Sunoo had always prided himself on his calm demeanor. As an empathetic veterinarian at his own animal hospital, he knew how to handle all sorts of animals, from the smallest rabbits to the most defensive snakes. Nothing could faze him—until his six boyfriends walked into the hospital.
Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Niki had their own brand of chaos. Each one brought a unique type of mischief, and together, they were a whirlwind of energy. Sunoo had learned to expect the unexpected when they were around, but he couldn’t help but smile at their antics.
“Sunoo, I think the cat’s trying to eat the fish,” Heeseung said, holding up a squirming kitten in one hand while pointing to the aquarium with the other.
“I didn’t do it,” Jay chimed in from the back, where he was busy knocking over a stack of towels in a fit of laughter.
“Boys, please,” Sunoo called from the reception desk, trying to calm the situation. He smiled at the sight of them, despite the chaos they often brought. They were his chaotic, handsome loves, and he couldn’t help but adore them.
“Is it too late to ask for some snacks?” Jungwon said with a cheeky grin as he leaned against the counter. “We’re starving.”
“Go ask the staff for that,” Sunoo said, shaking his head but already knowing they wouldn’t listen.
Meanwhile, Jake was busy inspecting the exam room, where a snake had been brought in for a check-up. “I think this snake’s got a thing for me,” he said, his voice dripping with mock seriousness as the snake hissed in his direction.
“Jake, don’t tease the snakes,” Sunoo warned, though his voice lacked the usual sternness. He could never be too mad at them.
Sunghoon, ever the troublemaker, had somehow ended up balancing a dog in his arms while pretending it was a baby. “Look, I’m a father now!” he exclaimed dramatically, making the dog bark in confusion.
“Sunghoon, don’t make it weird,” Niki called from the back, where he was busy rummaging through the supply closet. “I’m just trying to find the bandages.”
As the six of them continued their antics, Sunoo chuckled softly, his heart full. Despite the occasional chaos, they always made him smile. It was moments like this, when everything was a little wild and a lot chaotic, that he realized just how lucky he was to have them by his side.
"Alright, alright," Sunoo said, finally getting up from his desk. "If you all don't calm down, you’ll be helping me with the animals today. And trust me, you do not want to do that.”
The guys immediately quieted down, but only for a moment. Sunoo could see the mischievous glint in their eyes. They weren’t done yet.
“Well, Daddy, can we at least get some attention?” Jay teased, walking over and pulling Sunoo into a soft kiss. The others quickly followed suit, each sneaking a peck or a hug as Sunoo smiled at them.
"I’ll take care of you guys later," Sunoo said, laughing as he tried to wriggle free from their affectionate clutches.
As chaotic as they were, they were his chaos, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
The warmth of Sunoo’s laughter filled the air as his boyfriends continued to smother him with affection. But just as he was about to lead them to the break room for snacks and some quiet time, the door swung open with a loud bang. A woman burst through, holding a trembling, bleeding puppy in her arms. Her face was pale with panic, and her voice shook as she spoke.
“Please, you have to help! I—I found this poor thing on the road, and... someone hit it and just drove off! They didn’t even stop!” She handed the puppy to Sunoo, who quickly assessed the injury. The little animal’s breathing was shallow, and its leg appeared to be broken.
