Sunoo had always known that his boyfriends were head over heels for him, but today? Today, they were acting suspiciously strange. The six of them—Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Niki—had been whispering among themselves all day, exchanging mischievous glances whenever Sunoo walked into the room.
"What's going on?" Sunoo asked, crossing his arms as he leaned against the counter of Sunbeam Café. He had just finished decorating a batch of macarons with delicate hearts, and his sharp eyes didn’t miss how the guys quickly silenced their conversation when he entered the kitchen.
"Nothing, babe," Heeseung said, a little too quickly, flashing his charming grin.
Jay coughed, covering his face to hide the slight flush in his cheeks. "Baby, don’t overthink it. We’re just... talking about work."
"Work?" Sunoo raised an eyebrow, his tone dripping with sass. "You mean the ‘work’ where you’ve been sneaking around like teenagers planning a prank? Try harder."
Jake stepped forward, attempting to soothe Sunoo with his sweetest smile. "Darling, we just want everything to be perfect for you. That’s all."
"Perfect for me?" Sunoo repeated, narrowing his eyes. "Do you think I was born yesterday? Spill it."
Sunghoon, ever the calm one, wrapped an arm around Sunoo’s waist and whispered, "Love, you’ll find out soon enough. Be patient, okay?"
"Patient?!" Sunoo huffed, swatting his hand away. "I’ve been patient all day while you six act like fools. Out with it before I—"
"Sun," Jungwon interrupted softly, his eyes twinkling. "Trust us. It’s a surprise."
"Our Sun," Niki added, placing a hand on Sunoo’s shoulder with a cheeky grin. "We promise you’ll love it."
Sunoo let out an exaggerated sigh, muttering, "You’re all lucky you’re cute."
Later that evening, Sunoo was practically dragged to the garden behind the café, where fairy lights had been strung up, casting a warm glow over the space. A soft melody played in the background, and Sunoo’s sharp tongue momentarily softened at the sight of a beautifully set table surrounded by flowers.
"You planned all this?" Sunoo asked, his voice quieter now as he took in the effort.
"Of course, babe," Heeseung said, guiding Sunoo to a seat. "You deserve nothing less."
Dinner was a blur of laughter and heartfelt compliments, but Sunoo’s suspicions returned when Jake accidentally spilled, "I can’t believe we’re actually doing this."
"Doing what?" Sunoo demanded, his eyes darting between the guys.
Jake froze, and Jay quickly interjected, "He means—uh—this dinner! Right, everyone?"
The others nodded furiously, but Sunoo was unconvinced.
By dessert, Heeseung stood, clearing his throat. "Sunoo, babe, we’ve been together for years now..."
Sunoo’s eyes widened. No way.
"...and we’ve been dropping hints all day, but you’ve been too sassy to notice."
"Wait, what?!" Sunoo exclaimed, his heart racing.
Jay chuckled, pulling out a small velvet box and handing it to Heeseung. "Baby, we couldn’t wait any longer."
Sunghoon and Jake knelt beside Heeseung, while Jungwon and Niki stood behind them, holding up a banner that read, Will you marry us, Sunoo?
Tears welled up in Sunoo’s eyes as he looked at the six of them, his usual sass momentarily replaced by raw emotion. "You idiots... of course I will!"
