It was a typical evening at the ENHYPEN dorm, a chaotic blend of loud laughter, arguments over who gets to use the gaming console, and the faint sound of music in the background. Sunoo was lounging on the couch, scrolling through his phone, when suddenly, Jay barged into the living room, looking disheveled and wide-eyed.
"Sunoo!" Jay's voice rang out, almost desperate, and before Sunoo could even look up, Jay was on top of him, draping himself across his shoulders like a koala clinging to a tree.
"Whoa, Jay! What are you doing?!" Sunoo exclaimed, caught completely off guard by the sudden attack.
"I’m not letting go," Jay replied, his voice muffled by Sunoo's shoulder as he nuzzled into it. "I swear, if you leave me for even a second, I'll cry."
Sunoo blinked in confusion, still trying to process the chaos unfolding in front of him. "Jay, what? You’re being dramatic."
But Jay’s arms tightened around him, his grip practically vice-like as he whined, “No, no, you don’t understand! I can’t lose you to the chaos in this dorm, okay? It's too loud, too much… I need you.”
Sunoo couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, but at the same time, there was something endearing about how Jay was practically clinging to him for dear life. “What’s gotten into you? Why are you acting like this?”
“I’m serious,” Jay muttered, his voice muffled against Sunoo’s neck. “You don’t get it. Sunghoon keeps stealing my snacks, Jake is trying to take over the TV remote, and Heeseung is playing his guitar so loudly that I can’t hear myself think! I need you to protect me from the noise.”
Sunoo raised an eyebrow, amused. “So, you’re clinging to me like a lifeline because of a little dorm chaos?”
“I don’t care if it’s little or big!” Jay pouted, his arms still wrapped around Sunoo like he was preparing for a storm. “I just need some peace and quiet with you. Please?”
As if on cue, the other members of the dorm burst into the living room, and the noise levels skyrocketed. Sunghoon was arguing with Jake about the remote, Jake was laughing obnoxiously, and Heeseung was strumming his guitar loudly, oblivious to the madness he was contributing to.
“See?” Jay said, looking up at Sunoo, his eyes wide with exaggerated horror. “This is why I can’t let go of you. It's a madhouse out there!”
Sunoo rolled his eyes, still chuckling at Jay’s antics, but he could see the genuine distress in Jay’s eyes. “Alright, alright,” he said, trying to comfort him. “I’ll be your shield from the chaos for a bit. But you owe me some snacks later.”
Jay’s eyes lit up in relief as he finally relaxed against Sunoo, his grip loosening just enough to make it less like a chokehold and more like a cozy cuddle. “Deal. I’ll get you the best snacks.”
As the dorm continued to echo with chaos, Sunoo smiled fondly, his arm going around Jay’s shoulders, holding him close. In that moment, it didn’t matter how loud or crazy the world around them got. With Jay clinging to him, Sunoo felt like he could handle it all, one chaotic moment at a time.
And even as the noise swirled around them, Jay kept murmuring, “You’re my safe place, Sunoo. Never leave me in the chaos.”
Sunoo chuckled, pulling Jay even closer. “I’m not going anywhere, Jay. Not as long as you need me.”
As Jay continued to cling to Sunoo like his personal lifeline, the other members, now fully immersed in the dorm's chaos, were doing what they did best—adding to it.
Jungwon, the leader, had been trying to keep things in order, but it was clear that the chaos was winning. He had just finished practicing a routine with their choreographer and was trying to make sure everything went smoothly. But the moment he entered the living room, the noise hit him like a wall.
"Alright, who’s responsible for this mayhem?" Jungwon asked, hands on his hips, already looking exhausted.
Heeseung, who had been strumming his guitar for an hour, was so lost in his music that he didn’t even look up. “It’s not my fault the sound’s so great, Jungwon! You should try it.”
Sunghoon and Jake were now involved in a full-fledged remote battle, shoving each other playfully but making enough noise to annoy anyone within a five-mile radius. "Stop hogging it!" Sunghoon yelled.
"I was here first!" Jake shot back, tugging at the remote, clearly determined to win.
Jungwon raised an eyebrow. "Are you both serious? You’re literally fighting over a remote control like children."
At this point, Niki wandered in from the kitchen, holding a bag of chips with the most carefree attitude possible. He watched the situation unfold, taking a leisurely bite as though he were watching a sitcom. "You know, I think we should just let it happen. This is the real entertainment right here."
Jungwon, now thoroughly exasperated, turned to Niki. "Niki, aren’t you going to help?"
Niki shrugged, his expression utterly unbothered. "Honestly, I’m just here for the snacks. Let them have their fun. I’m living for the drama."
Jungwon ran a hand through his hair, clearly defeated, as the argument between Sunghoon and Jake grew louder. Meanwhile, Heeseung was still strumming his guitar, now with even more passion, probably unaware that his volume was turning the entire dorm into a music festival.
"I’m going to take a nap," Jungwon muttered, making a beeline for his room before the noise could get any worse. "This is the price of being the leader."
And amidst all the chaos, there was Jay, still clinging to Sunoo, seeking solace from the storm. Sunoo, who had gotten used to the madness by now, tried to soothe Jay, rubbing his back in an effort to calm him down. “Look, the world is falling apart, but we’ve got each other, okay?”
Niki, still munching on chips, leaned back against the doorframe, his smirk still intact. "Honestly, I don’t know how you two can be this cute in the middle of a war zone."
And just like that, the dorm went on—loud, chaotic, and a bit crazy—but Sunoo and Jay had carved out their own little bubble of calm in the midst of it all, proving that sometimes, it’s the little moments of peace that make the chaos bearable.
