Demons

-Erens PoV-

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, put heart mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

A what?! My green eyes widened at the new piece of information. What was going on? How? What? Why? When? I furrowed my eyebrows, opening my mouth to response but no words were audible. I gulped softly and gripped the jacket he lent over to me. It still had his amazing scent. I finally wound up the courage to make myself speak, "well, we have matching necklaces, so that's that. And I accept him for who he is, even with all his scars. When you met Annie you never knew she was a fighter. But that didn't matter cause you had each other." I huffed angrily and stomped to my room, leaving Mikasa bewildered and confused. I flopped onto my bed as it squeaked loudly. I let out a shiver and tugged the jacket much closer to my body, embracing and sucking up the warmth from it happily. I was once cold now I am warm. I have found my warmth.

The next day I had dialed Levi's number, making sure to save it as a contact. He has answered on the first ring, his soothing and strong voice thing through my phone, making me smile at the sound. "Hello brat, though you would call sooner..." I cut him off with my conceded and worried voice, "Levi are you a thug?" I asked, conceded. I heard an audible sigh from the other side of the line. "I didn't think you would find out....." He trailed off. His voice was lower now, more silent. "Yeah, but I just quit my gang, finally was able to leave" Levi continued, not needing my reply. "How were you able to leave?" I asked, curiously. But I held back all my other questions. How did he join in the first place? What was the gang called? And many more.. "They said I could leave once...." Levi let in a sharp breath before breathing out, "once I had found my other half, so thanks brat, I didn't really wanna be apart of their group, so thanks, I guess." I could tell he meant it, but I also noted he wasn't good at telling people thank you. I nodded, but realized he wasn't in front of me in person. "Yeah, umm you're welcome, I guess." I mocked him a little with a small laugh. I even got him to let out a chuckle, although it only lasted a good 5 seconds.

"Whatever brat." Levi replied and I rolled my eyes at the nickname he had given me, "I have a name ya know." I scoffed and filed my arms, making sure to keep my old phone held against my face. "And it's brat." Levi let out another chuckled as he hung up on me, leaving me flabbergasted. I got up, realizing it was 8:30, and changed into my uniform, it was starting to get slightly dirty, so I made a mental note to put it in the wash later on today. I tugged on Levi's jacket, his sweet scent rising into my nose, already making my day brighter and fuller of light and warmth. I skipped out of the door, making sure to grab my apartment keys, and pulled on my shoes.

It was only a nice 5 minute walk, making sure to quicken my pace as I felt myself get warmer the closer I got to the library. Was Levi in there? I pulled open the door, making sure that the open sign was flipped to open. Since Jean sits on his horse ass the entire shift, he hardy ever works. I had my back turned to the inside of the library, as I was facing the window, flipping the sign and finding the library keys jeans hand laying on the rug. I sighed as I bent down, grabbing the cold metal keys. "Jean you are so lazy don't leave these laying around." I said once I had bent down fully and grabbed them. "Well just--- shut the fuck up loner boy." Jean hissed, trying to find a come back. I chuckled as I twirled the keys on my finger as I turned around and saw Levi.

But Levi was grabbing jeans collar and shoving him on the library wall, growling angrily. "Eren just happened to find out I was his soulmate yesterday, does that still mean he is a loner?" Levi said with a demonic expression on his face. Jean yelped and shook his head no furiously. Levi let go, and let Jean fall flat on his ass and let out another cry of pain as he fell onto a book. I couldn't help but giggle at two things; Levi's over protectiveness and sassy ness even with he short height, and also Jean rubbing his butt from falling on top of a book. I walked behind the counter and rested my arms on top of it, smirking at Levi, who was walking to the counter.

"That wasn't necessary..." I said slowly as I punched in my card, setting it back into the card holder. Levi picked up a pencil, spinning it In between his fingers with a bored expression. "Yes it was, he was being an ass to you." Levi replied like it was nothing special. I let out another chuckle and sat onto my wheely chair, "thanks, I guess," making sure to send him a mocking smile, before continuing. "How did you even find out where I work?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. Levi sent me a are-you-fucking-serious look. "You were wearing your work clothes when we met." Levi replied and walked behind the counter, even though it was for employees only.

"oh such a bad ass." I sent a sarcastic wink and leaned back in my chair, letting my legs rest on top of the counter where we checked out and returned the books from our customers. Levi chuckled and leaned against the counter, staring at me blissfully. I cocked my head a little and stared back confused, "what are you looking at?" I blushed lightly. Levi smirked and cleared his throat, "sorry it's just....I've never seen an angel up close before." Levi said with a corny pick up line I couldn't help but blush as he sent a wink at me. "Look at you Mr. sly." I said as I sat up, getting from my seat and grabbing a box of newly shipped in books we had to put away.

"Thank you I try." Levi rhymed as he grabbed the box away from me. "what are you doing?" I asked, following him as he put away the books one by one in the correct place. He sent a shrug and put away another book. "Just helping out my soul mate is all." He sent another wink followed with a chuckle as I flushed and my face turned bright red.

-time skip to lunch-

Jean went out with Marco for lunch and Armin called In sick to work so it was just Levi and I for lunch. I picked at my salad like any another day with small chit chat with Levi.

"Describe a hot guy." I said after I swallowed down my last bite of my food. Levi thought as he took another swig of his coke. "Really tall, 8 pack, sexy, deep voice, rides motorcycles, and blonde hair," (no it's not Erwin) I nodded as I took a sip of my water, capping it afterward. "so then I guess I'm not the perfect guy huh?" I mumbled as I folded my hands on my lap. Levi raised an eyebrow and smirked , "you never said describe the perfect guy." He kicked his feet up to the table and leaned back in his computer chair, staring at me. "then what's the perfect guy?" I asked curiously as I tilted my head. Levi closed his eyes and opened them, his grey blue eyes met with me, sending waves of warmth through my body.
