--- Stella's Point of View ---

I watched his face carefully, trying to really understand what was going on emotionally with him, I saw many things flit across his face, fear, awe, and devastation.

He cleared his throat and licked his lips, something that always made me flustered, and even though I was a married woman it still worked on me.

"May I...I...sorry, can I touch your stomach?"

You felt the tears start to come, and you fought them back as hard as you could, maybe it was just the hormones that were making you feel so flustered.

"Yeah."

He stepped forward and he put one hand around your waist and the other lying flat against your belly, you moved his hand, so it was under your shirt and slightly under the pants.

"Amethyst..."

"Just keep it there, and be quiet, you can feel him move."

I watched as he closed his eyes and held his breath.

It was then I noticed he was wearing earrings, something he had never done, looking closer I realized that they were tiny Amethyst stones, I didn't know how I should feel about that.

He let out a little gasp and I steeped back a little in shock.

"Sorry, I felt it...I felt him."

His green eyes had opened up again and I saw him looking at me with that intensity he always does. I inhaled deeply, smelling that familiar sent of college that he always wore, I knew I had to actively stop myself from kissing him.

I gave him a smile to try and dis, there was silence between the two of you, a long pause.

"Babe..."

"Don't." I stepped back, putting up my hand as if it could block the emotions that were going thought me, and keeping him.

He looked at me more than a little bit defeated, he ran a hand across his face, I noticed that his muscles were a bit more defined in his arms.

He looked up at me, his green eyes a bit harder than they were just a moment ago, as if he had more control over himself all of a sudden.

"Do you love him?"

I wasn't expecting that question, and I stumbled back a bit in shock at the ferocity in his tone of voice, I wasn't scared of him, not by a long way but he hadn't really used that tone with me before now.

"I'm married to him." I blurted it out, without really thinking it over.

I saw something flash across his face, so quickly I couldn't read his expression, and he stood up a bit straighter, and was now looking down at me.

"How are you doctors'

appointments going?"

In just as many minutes, I was stunned and alarmed by his sudden change of mood and topic of discussion, it seemed calculated. Then again, he deserved to know about what is going on with his child, it was only fair.

"They are going well, he's doing good."

"Would you and...your husband mind if came along for one."

I swallowed the dry lump that had suddenly formed in my throat, I was a bit unsettled with him calling Rooster my husband – he was but why would he not refer to him by name.

"That shouldn't be a problem, I'm sure that Rooster wouldn't mind, I really should go." You turned.

"You should be Seresin not a Bradshaw..." His voice was soft but held a deep baritone to it. I didn't know how to respond, because I loved Rooster, more than anything, but I didn't really disagree with him on that.
