"King, you needed to talk to me?"  Pell asked as he entered Cobra's office after being summoned early in the morning. The older man looked away from some of the documents he was reading and up at the guard.
"Yes, I did. Thank you for making time for me. I won't take too much of your time. I just have a simple question to ask you right now."
"Go on." Pell nodded his head, wondering what the man wanted to ask him this early.

"Well, it's about your little outburst from a few days ago. Vivi and I couldn't help but notice that you seemed a little agitated when Igaram mentioned (Y/n)."
Pell tried not to tense up when Cobra brought that up since he didn't expect the king to remember that or even brong it up anymore.
"It's nothing. I was just very tired that day, and my temper wasn't the best. I am sorry if I had soured your and Vivi's mood."

"You didn't, Pell. But, I want to know what the issue is. (Y/n) is like my own kid to me, and you know how much Vivi likes her, so I want to know what the issue is." Cobra pressed on the issue, wanting to know what exactly the problem was. But, something in his gut told him that he didn't want to know the real answer.

"Well, how do we know she is trustworthy around Princess Vivi? The (Y/n) now is very different from the little girl we met years ago."
"Well, kids are supposed to grow up and change a little bit over the years. That's normal. It doesn't mean we can't trust her." Cobra's answer agitated Pell even more, and he had to hold back an eyeroll at how the king sounded when he said that.

'I can't believe he is defending her!'
"This one (Y/n) is not trustworthy! You remember what happened to Vivi years ago. And now she is friends with Nico Robin, the woman who helped Sir Crocodile. She doesn't mean you or the country well."

"Pell... There are a lot of things you don't know and shouldn't know, so I somewhat understand your outburst. But, (Y/n) knows what she is doing, and she would never try to hurt anyone she loves. Nico Robin, with all her faults, isn't a rotten woman. Believe me, I saw it. And that accident with Vivi was something she said was her fault. (Y/n) told her over and over not to mess with any of the liquids since they were deadly. You saw how devastated she was during the days Vivi was in a coma." Cobra recalled, but Pell wasn't convinced one bit by any of the words the man was saying.

"Yeah, so devastated that she didn't even visit the princess until she had woken up."
His comment made the king pause for a moment as he stared at him with a confused look.
"Pell... You do know that (Y/n) was working on an antidote for Vivi during those days, right? Igaram did tell you that the only reason Vivi woke up is because (Y/n) found a way to get the poison out of her system, right?"

Now, this was something Pell wasn't aware of at all, and he looked at the king as if he had grown a second head after the revelation. Nobody had told him this! Why did nobody tell him this piece of information?
"What?"
"She did, Pell. You can ask Vivi or anyone else closest to her. I am telling you the truth here."
"But... That means I have -"

Pell cut himself off when he realized the grave mistake he had made, and he couldn't risk the king or anyone else finding it out now.
"You what?" Cobra asked in confusion, but all he got was Pell shaking his head while his face paled more and more.

"No... nothing! Nothing, king!"
"Hmm...." Cobra hummed, not convinced by Pell's words, but he wasn't feeling brave enough to ask further questions.

On a different part of the Grand Line, (Y/n) was enjoying the peaceful time she had in her laboratory while working on a new project. It wasn't really common for her to be alone there, as she was usually joined by Luffy, Chopper or Usopp, and while the silence was a little nice, she couldn't help but miss the chaos that came with having people around you in a space as small as this one.

But, she didn't have much time to think about it since observing the reaction in the testing tube was more important to her than that. Carefully watching the purple-ish color of the poison turn white, (Y/n)'s hopes of this round of testing succeeding grew.
'Come on, come on - And it's bubbling up again.'
