Chapter Fifteen: Happy Days

Today is the beginning of the busiest week of they year. My baby shower is today, Madeline and Katherine have spent a lot of time planning it so I can't wait to see how it turns out. Then tomorrow starts finals we have one Monday, Tuesday then Wednesday is or last day of school. Thursday is graduation so I have to Finnish my speech witch is causing way more stress then it should, then Saturday Jack leaves for LA again. Time is definitely flying by its weird to think that in only one month the baby will be here.

Everyone started showing up at the house for my party. They had a nice set up, it was all gender neutral colors seeing as we don't know if it's a boy or a girl. I went to see the gift pile and thank god a lot of people are giving us diapers, I was at target last week and holy hell they are expensive.

"Okay before we eat I want to make an announcement" Katherine said as we gave her our full attention.

"Kate" she spoke holding her hand to her heart "you my dear have brought me so much joy, the fact that you are about to have my first grandchild brings tears to my eyes" Katherine grabbed a napkin and wiped her tears "Not only do you make my son happy but my family as well. I am so happy for you my dear. Although there will be times where you are tired and crabby, this baby will bring so much joy into your life and I can't wait to watch it grow. I know you and Jack will be amazing parents and I already am so proud of the both of you" she paused and wiped some more tears as she walked up to me and held my face.

"I might not have given birth to you, but you are my daughter and I am so proud of you and the amazing beautiful woman that you are. I love you Kate" everyone clapped while I stood up and hugged her.

"I love you too" I whispered in her ear before we broke the hug.

I say back down to see everyone was crying a little. "Me next!" Madeline said standing up.

"Okay well I can't beat that" she laughed along with everyone else.

"Kate we have known each other for ever and the fact your about to have this baby is still a shock" she laughed "but I couldn't be more excited. Your going to be the best mom out there and I can not wait to meet baby no name. Regardless boy or girl I will love it. Thank you so much for trusting me to be the godmother of your and jacks child I couldn't  be more happy. Love ya Kate"

"Love you too" I laughed as we hugged.

We sat around and are our dinner. Everyone was hear all our friends jacks whole family and my sister. Jack is with the boys, he thinks it will be to sappy if he is here. It's turning out to be a really good day. I'm happy! Today is a happy day.

"I would like to say something if that's okay" I stood up looking at everyone.

For some reason I'm already tearing up "as most of you know this was a vary unexpected pregnancy" I laughed trying to hide the tears threatening to fall "but umm.. Even though it's not what I planned, I don't regret it. This baby has made me see a whole new version of life. I want to thank each and every one of you for all the support you have given me and Jack through tall of this l. I know it hasn't need easy, in fact it hasn't been easy at all. But if it wasn't for every one in this room today, I wouldn't be standing here. So from the bottom of my heart thank you" everyone clapped and said aww as I sat down.

Now it's present time, the time where my inner five year old come out and I get excited I love presents. I opens up jacks sister fist they got us onesies that say #1 aunts with matching hats "haha thanks Em and Molly" I said hugging the girls. I opens a few more from family member and other friends. Most were diapers, clothes and toys, the things we need the most.

Then I opened  Madeleine's, she got me pretty much everything that a normal person wouldn't at a baby shower. It was a gift cart to a day spa for me, it was a day of relaxation and a $100 gift card to target. "Thank you maddi" I smiled hugging her "I figured you would need a day to yourself" she laughed.

"Okay Kate, me and David really couldn't get your present in the house so if you would come with me please" Katherine said taking my hand and lead in me to the garage.

Oh tear load what did they get that couldn't in the house. We walked out the back door across the grass to the drive way. Jacks jeep was still there seeing as Sammy picked him up but there was another car, a Ford Escape to be exact. She walked me over to it as I stood there in aw.

"Your going to need a car" she smiled as I stood frozen.

"Is this.. This isn't min.. Did you buy me a car?" I was finally able to choke out.

"Look inside"

I opened it with excitement seeing a vary expensive looking baby seat with a merrier handing on the back so I could see the baby from the front.

"Oh my go-"

"Don't forget the trunk" she said cutting my off.

I went to the truck opening it to see a stroller, diaper bag, portable changing table and a bunch of toys. I finally let my tears fall as I realized how much money they have spent on me as if I was their own and how much all this was going to help us out.

"Thank you so much" I said crying on her shoulder as I hugged her tightly.

"You deserve it.. All of it" Katherine smiled hugging me "theres one more thing, go look under the drivers seat"

What more could they possibly have gotten. I walked over to the drivers side owning the door and reaching under their was an envelope. I opens it, it was two plane tickets to the Dominican Republic with a hotel package for a week, with a not attached.

Being a mommy and daddy is hard. When you are ready we will take the baby so you both can have a getaway and spend some much needed alone time with each other. We are so proud of the both of you.

"We can't" I said in disbelief.

"You can and you will" she laughed hugging me.

"You spent way to much" I cried looking at everything they have gotten us.

"It's your graduation, baby and Christmas gifts"

"Thank you so much Katherine" I hugged her once more.

"Okay umm.. Can we like drive this? It's so much nicer then my G6" Madeline said braking up our hug, I looked at Katherine and she handed me the keys.

"Omg it has one of those rear facing cameras" I said in excitement as we backed out of the drive way.

I still can't believe they got me a car, it's perfect. Black my favorite color with all black leather interior it's also huge!

"Let's go to sammy's!"

So that's what we did. I knew they boys would still be there either filming vines or playing basketball. Me and Madeline talked about the baby shower and where I was going to store everything. So enough we turned the corner and pulled up Sammy's I was right their playing basket ball.

"Look at that hot momma Rollin up in her new whip!" Jack yelled as we pulled into the driveway.

I got out of the car running up to hug him"you knew?" I asked in shock.

"I help picked it out" he smiled brightly  "did you have fun today"

"Yes" I smiled "it was a really good day"
