Dear Diary...
...Three weeks ago, at the end-of-season party, I went out to celebrate with the team.
I had just signed with Red Bull, and my life was perfect. I had an amazing season and was now awaiting an even better one.
So, the whole team went to the club, as one does. It was a lively club; there were many people from F1, but also many who just happened to be there.
Y/n was one of them.
We had met before; she had been a guest at RB for the Japanese GP, which was a while ago now. But after that race, I couldn't stop thinking about her.
She was the only one who actually cheered while I raced, and it felt even more special because it was the first GP where I finished in the points.
It felt crazy to have a girl cheer for me so openly. In the beginning, I thought, Wow, she's super enthusiastic, and I didn't even know her.
But since then, it was more like: When will I ever see her again? No one else cheers like her.
Fast-forward to three weeks ago at the party, where I met her again. She had come with some of her friends, who actually worked at F1.
I approached her, and she was overjoyed to see me again. We had spoken for a few moments in Japan and immediately hit it off. There was no time to exchange contacts, so we did that as soon as we met again in the club.
Y/n's smile was the most beautiful I'd ever seen, and I still think it is.
We danced all night with our friends, and had the best time ever. During one of the dancing breaks we took, we headed over to the bar to grab a drink.
We'd had a couple of drinks already, so we were both beyond sober.
"So," I stayed close to her so she could hear my voice and so that I could ward off any creeps who came too close, "how have you been since Japan?"
She giggled: "Great! I worked a lot, which absolutely drained me, but I spent the summer with my family and had the best time ever visiting my hometown again."
I smiled and placed a hand on her arm when a man came too close: "Watch where you're going!"
I shouted after him, but luckily, he was too drunk to notice.
Y/n looked up at me with wonder, like I'd just saved her from the end of the world.
My eyes met hers, and I felt that spark I'd felt in Japan again. Only this time, I was sure she felt it too.
She crashed her lips onto mine, and I wrapped my arms around her. The loud music and dense crowd hid us from the public eye, which allowed us to enjoy the moment.
Her wonderful scent met my nose, and I fell in love on the spot. She looked beautiful, like an angel.
As her arms wrapped around my neck, I held her close. This is what I'd been waiting for since Japan.
And it was worth the wait.
So, fast-forward to today, Y/n is getting on a flight to visit my family and me for the holidays, which is everything and more I could ever ask for.
