Chapter 33

Sebastien's POV

"Let's go, Seb. everyone is waiting for us." Emily intertwined our hands together. We walked down the stairs.

"Son, I'm so glad that you finally took the decision. My son is finally getting engaged. " Mom hugged me.

Then mom turned towards Emily and engulfed her in a big hug, " Emily, please take care of my son well. He fell in love twice but got hurt in the end. I'm trusting you with my son. "

"Of course, Aunty. I'll give him all the love he deserves. Even if he doesn't feel for me but my love is enough for both of us." Emily smiled at me.

"Emily, come with me. I have to introduce you to my friends." Mom took Emily with her.

It's my engagement, but I'm not feeling happy. I'm sick of plastering this fake smile on my face.

"Sebastien. " I heard a voice .

"Bella." I whispered.

I looked around and saw a girl standing at a distance.

"Bella?"

She started running up on the stairs, and I followed her.

"Bella, stop." I tried to call her.

Finally, she stopped at the terrace. When she turned around, my eyes became glossy.

"Bella, it's you. I missed you, my love." I kissed her all over her face.

"I don't think so. You didn't miss Sebastien ." She turned away from me.

"Hey baby, what are you saying. Without you, I was so lifeless. " I said.

"But now you have someone else in your life. You are moving on. You are leaving your Bella behind. " She said.

"What are you saying, baby? Your Sebastien can never leave you behind. You own my heart. " I cried.

"Then what about me, Sebastien? Do I even exist in your life?" I heard another voice from behind.

When I turned around there she was, Evelyn.

"You broke my trust, Evelyn. I hate you." I roared.

"I didn't break your trust. You just didn't trust me when I needed you the most. You are making a mistake. " She walked towards Bella.

"Let's go, Bella. Sebastien doesn't need us anymore. " Evelyn and Bella were walking away.

"Bella, where are you going? Evelyn, stop, you can't take her away from me like that." I tried to stop them, and they suddenly disappeared.

"BELLA ." I screamed and dropped on my knees .

"You can't leave me like this, Bella." I sobbed harder.

"Sebastien, what happened, my son." Mom kneeled down in front of me.

"Mom, Bella left me. Am I doing something wrong?" I asked her.

She cupped my cheeks and wiped my tears, " Son, you must have been hallucinating. Bella is not here. Get up, everyone is waiting for you. Emily is waiting. " She supported me to stand up.

"Where were you, Sebastien? I was waiting for you. It's time to exchange rings." Emily is so excited about this engagement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you all that you guys came at a very short notice to give your blessings to my son and his fiance. It's time for exchanging the rings. Please give a big hand." Dad announced.

"Take this ring and slip it on her finger." Mom gave me the ring.

I took Emily's hand, but before I could slip the ring on her finger, a voice interrupted us.

"Stop, you can't do that, Sebastien. "

I don't have to turn around to tell who it is. It's Evelyn.

"Why are you here, Evelyn? Stop interfering in our lives. " Emily shouted .

"I should be the one saying that. Stop interfering in our life, Emily. Just leave us alone." Evelyn said.

I gripped Evelyn arm harshly, " Why are you here? Stop creating a scene here. We don't want your drama in our engagement. " I growled.

"Sebastien, this girl is not right. Please believe me. I'm your Bella."

"Enough of your nonsense, Evelyn. You are still up to that nonsense, and you think Sebastien is going to believe this." Emily snarled.

"Evelyn, I trusted you. I thought you would be the perfect partner to my son. Please stop hurting my son. I request you. He has suffered enough. Just leave him alone." Mom pleaded.

"Aunty, please trust me. I'm not lying. " Evelyn said.

"She is telling the truth. " Revenna's voice came from entrance.

"So now you have brought your entire family to create this drama." Emily said.

"She is not lying. She is not our daughter, Evelyn. She is Bella. We found her 4 years back, and she went through surgery. Her face was disfigured, so we gave her face to our daughter. When she woke up from coma, she lost her memory. So we gave her identity of our daughter." James said.

"Nice script, James." Emily clapped her hands.

"Then where is your real daughter? If your story is true, then where is real Evelyn?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"She died. That guy Theodore killed my precious daughter. " Ravenna broke into tears.

"I don't understand Sebastien why you are even listening to their baseless story. " Emily said.

"It's not baseless. I can show you the proof. This is my daughter's death certificate. " James showed me a document. It was a death certificate issued by the hospital where Evelyn died.

"How can I believe that you are not lying? If Theodore killed your daughter, then why didn't you filed a complaint against him." Emily questioned.

" We tried, but he had connections. When Bella came into our life, we decided to leave the past behind and start a new life with her. We couldn't afford to let him hurt her." James said.

"This story is fake." Emily snarled.

"Everything can be fake, but this bracelet. Is it also fake, Sebastien?" Evelyn asked while giving me a bracelet. It was Bella's bracelet, which I gifted her. I didn't find it on her dead body. I thought it maybe lost in the water.

"You remember this bracelet?"
