Chapter 55

Author's POV

"Mom, I'm full now." Evelyn said.

"Just one more bite." Selena fed her another spoon of oatmeal.

"You have already fed me too much." Evelyn protested.

"You have to eat for two people . This is the last bite. Be a good girl and finish it." Selena said.

"You are always pampering your daughter in law. I feel like I'm really abandoned. " Sebastien said.

"Don't be jealous. Mom loves me more." Evelyn said while side hugging Selena.

"Yes, I love my daughter the most." Selena placed a kiss on Evelyn's forehead.

"Nobody loves me." Sebastien fake cried loudly.

"You and you drama." Evelyn and Selena rolled eyes at him.

Evelyn is eight and half a month pregnant by now. As soon as Evelyn completed 7 months, Selena and Ravenna wanted to move in with them to take care of Evelyn. Considering the fact that Evelyn needs extra care now, Sebastien agreed with it as he thought that his mom and mom in kaw knew about pregnancy matters better than him.

Three days Selena stays at their place, and for the next three days, Ravenna does. On the weekends, Sana and Sebastien's friends come to spend time with her. Aron and James also pay visits quite often.

"Seb, I am craving for some raspberry donuts. " Evelyn said.

"Didn't you say you are full just now?" Selena narrowed eyes at her.

"I have a little space reserved for donuts. And oatmeal is boring, mom." Evelyn whined.

"You naughty girl." Selena chuckled .

"She is always like that, mom. Whenever I give her healthy food, she starts whining . Ever since she became pregnant, she has always been craving sweets and spicy food." Sebastien complained.

Evelyn looked at him with wide eyes, "Are you accusing me of being picky eater?"

"Yes." He chuckled.

"No, I'm not picky. Your kids are picky. They always demand sweets, not me." She pouted while looking at her belly.

"Really? Now you are accusing innocent babies. That's so bad, Eve." Sebastien laughed.

"Don't laugh at me. I'm not bad. You are the bad one." She stomped her foot.

"Alright, Sebastien, don't make her wait. Ger her donuts. And buy some chocolate donuts for me as well." Selena added.

"Alright, mom." Sebastien gave a thumbs up .

"Eve, let's go back to your room. You should rest."

Selena supported Evelyn to climb the stairs. Evelyn was climbing while holding her bump with one hand and another one on Selena's shoulder.

"Mom, you should rest too. You have been doing everything on your own. You didn't let me help." Evelyn said.

"I'll go back to the room after making sure you slept." Selena said.

Evelyn's phone started ringing. Selena looked at the caller id on the screen.

"Sebastien is calling. You stay in bed. I'll attend it." Selena said.

"Hello."

"Mom, I got a call from the office. There is some emergency so I have to go there. I'll be a bit late. I have sent someone to deliver the donuts for Evelyn. Make sure she takes proper rest."

Sebastien said on the other end of the phone. The whole time, Evelyn was looking curiously at Selena to know about the conversation.

"Don't worry about Evelyn. You manage the work. I'll make sure that she sleeps."

"What happened, mom?" Evelyn asked.

"Seb got some emergency at office. He had to go there. " Selena said.

"Okay."

Evelyn laid down with her head laying in Selena's lap. Selena caressed her hair. Evelyn felt her eyes getting heavy.

'Evelyn went to sleep.' She texted Sebastien and sent a pic of sleeping Evelyn.

'Alright, mom, you should sleep too. You must be tired. Don't forget to take your medicine. ' He texted back.

'Sure. Get home soon.'
Selena took her medicine and went to sleep.

"How did the fire start?" Sebastien asked.

"Sir, I doubt that this fire is not an accident. Someone set it intentionally. " Samuel said.

"How are you so sure about it?" Sebastien asked.

"Sir, I saw a kerosene can at the back of the building while inspecting. And even the fire alarm system didn't work. Someone tampered it. " Samuel informed.

"Did you find out the culprit behind it?" Sebastien was furious at the fact that someone set fire in the design room. All the latest designs and sample dresses were burnt down.

"Not yet, sir. The cameras were tempered, too." Samuel informed.

"Contact Mark and ask him to handle this matter." Sebastien said.

"Okay, sir, I'll contact him immediately. What should we do about the designs, sir? We have a design launch event this week." Samuel asked.

"Prepare for meeting with design team." Sebastien instructed.

Samuel left the cabin. Sebastien ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

He heard his phone ringing.

"Hello, mom, why are you crying ?"

He felt his whole world crashing when he heard the news.

"How did it happen? I'm coming soon. "

'God, please save my Evelyn.'
