Love Me Again

Chapter 29

Sebastien's POV

It's been 10 days, and Evelyn has not woken up yet.
I have been feeling devastated ever since she met with that accident.

I was not in office for the past 10 days. There was some issue in the company. Dad couldn't handle it alone, so I had to come to work today.

As much as I hated the idea of leaving Evelyn's side, I couldn't leave dad to handle everything alone. My staff had been staring at me today because I looked awful with puffy eyes. I haven't slept well in the past 10 days and cried a lot. I haven't shaved, too. I look so dull.

Before leaving for work, I asked mom and Sana to stay by Evelyn's side. Evelyn's parents left 2 days ago. Her mother wanted to take Evelyn with them, but her father refused. Later, I heard them talking that Evelyn is safer here as Theodore is back . I still feel like they are hiding something from me.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I looked at the screen, and Sana was calling.

"Hello."

"Sebastien, Evelyn woke up." Sana said, and I couldn't believe my ears.

"Can you say it again?" I said.

"Evelyn woke up, and she is asking about you. She wants to see you soon. She was crying so hard when she woke up, and couldn't find you. When I told her that you were at work, she took out the iv and was about to go to the office. The nurse had to give her an injection to make her sleep. Come home fast." She told me.

"I'm coming." Happy tears were falling from my eyes. I ran out of the company like some madman. My staff was giving me a weird look, but I didn't care about anything at that time.

On my way home, I went to the flower shop to buy 1000 red roses for her. When I drove back, I went to my room first. As much as I wanted to go and see her first, I wanted to keep the promise I made to her.

I took out the velvet box from the drawer. I bought this ring because I wanted to propose to her as soon as she woke up, I can't waste even a single day now. I want her to be mine forever.

I took the flower bouquet and ring. I had a deep breath before opening the door to her room. Sana and the nurse stood up to leave the room as they saw me.

Sana looked at the roses and velvet box, and she smiled.
"All the best. " She whispered to me before leaving me alone with Evelyn.

I walked slowly towards Evelyn. She was sleeping peacefully. I put the flowers on the drawer next to her bed.

"Evelyn, wake up, my love." I kissed her forehead.

She opened her eyes slowly. God knows how much I missed looking into her deep eyes.

She hugged me tightly and was sobbing hard.

"Are you fine, Sebastien? Did you get hurt?" She asked.

"Stupid girl, I'm not fine. You almost took my soul away when I saw you getting hit by that car." I said.

"I was so scared that you might get hurt." She said.

"You were out for the last 10 days. I missed you so much, baby. If it weren't for the law, I would have killed that Theodore. He lied to you. He was your ex. He cheated on you . He was the person behind the calls and the attack. " I told her.

"What? Was he the attacker?" She asked.

"Yes, that sick bastard wanted to take revenge because you exposed him in the past." I said.

"Sebastien, I didn't..." I placed my finger on her lips.

"Shhh, there is something more important than this." I said .

"What?" She asked.

I stood up and gave her the rose bouquet from the drawer. Then I knew down on the floor and took out the ring.

"Evelyn, you wanted me to propose you to be my girlfriend, right?" I asked, and her face lit up. She nodded in response.

"Sorry, but I don't want to be your boyfriend. " I said.

Her expressions changed into a sad one. She looked down with teary eyes.

"It's okay." She said in broken voice.

"The moment you met with that accident, I felt like my whole world shattered . I felt the pain that I felt 4 years ago when I lost Bella. I can't live without you for a single day. I love you so much. I don't want to be your boyfriend, I want to be your husband and stay with you in your thick and thin." I said.

She looked back at me. She was not even blinking.

"Evelyn Moore, will you marry me?" I asked.

"Evelyn Moore can't marry you. But Bella Lewis can." She replied.

I felt puzzled at her statement.

"I neee to talk to you about something very important. I have waited for this day for the last 4 years. " She said.

"What are you saying, Evelyn?"

She made me sit beside her. She held my hand and said,

"I never dated Theodore. I don't know why he wants to kill me." She said.

"You regained your memory?" I asked.

"Yes, I did."

"But Theodore said that he dated you and cheated on you." I said.

" I don't even know him. I don't even know about Evelyn."
She said.

"What are you saying, Evelyn ? I'm feeling confused.

" I'm not Evelyn Moore. " She said.

"Stop joking. Did you lose your memory again? Wait, let me call the doctor. " I was about to call the doctor, but she stopped me.

"I'm Bella, your Bella."

I froze at her statement.

"STOP. Don't talk nonsense, I'm not liking this joke. Don't joke about Bella like that." I said.

"No, I'm not joking. I'm telling the truth. I'm your Bella. Emily tried to kill me 4 years ago." She said.

"Just shut up, Evelyn. I know you don't like Emily because she was my fiance before, but stop with your nonsense now." I shouted.

" Why don't you believe me?" She said.

"Because I buried her with my own hands, why are you lying about this. You shouldn't have used my deceased lover's name like this. I hate you for this, Evelyn. " I shouted and threw the ring away on the floor.

I walked out of the house. She tried to stop me, but I didn't want to see her anymore.
