Author's POV

"Evelyn, I need your help." Liana said over call.

"What happened? Is everything alright?" Evelyn got worried.

"Everything is absolutely fine. It's just that I need your help in shopping. It's our wedding anniversary next week so I have to buy a gift for Dylan but I am confused. Can you accompany you for shopping?" Liana said.

"I'll definitely love to help you with this, but first, I need to ask Sebastien. He is too strict about my safety these days so I have to inform him." Evelyn said.

"I understand his concern. You should tell him." Liana said.

"Seb, Liana wanna go shopping with me. She needs my help to choose the anniversary gift for Dylan. " Evelyn said to her husband, who was busy playing with the twins.

"Mumma, mumma." Alonzo made grabby hands towards his mother as soon as he caught her site. Evelyn gladly held him in his arms.

"I can't send you on your own. I'll come with you." Sebastien said. Evelyn shook her head in disapprove.

"Liana might feel awkward. We will have a lot of girls talk and all. I can't take you with me." Evelyn said. Sebastien made a displeased face.

"You know I trust Liana, but it's just been a few days since we know each other. So, I can't send you alone with her. But if you insist that it's a girls' hangout, then at least take Sana with you." Sebastien suggested hoping that Evelyn would agree with him.

"Sure, I'll take Sana. You better take care of twins." Evelyn said.

"Evelyn, I have completed the procedure for Jessie's adoption, but I want to keep it on hold for now." Sebestian said.

"Why? Are you reconsidering about adoption?" Evelyn asked, suddenly feeling worried about Jessie.

"No, it's not about that. You know how things are complicated because of that Arthur. He even abducted the twins, so I don't want to bring Jessie home yet. I can't put her life at risk as well. Once everything gets solved, we will bring her home." Sebastien explained it to her.

"You are right. Both of us are stressed because of all this. Twins are too young to understand all this, but Jessie will definitely notice something is off with us. We should give her a happy and healthy environment, not a gloomy one." Evelyn said.

"Exactly, that's why let's solve the problem first, then we can live together like a happy family. " He said.

"Jessie is not aware that we are giving to adopt her. Right?" She asked.

"No, I made sure that no one at the orphanage mentioned her adoption as I want this to be a surprise for her. " Sebastien said.

"That's good. Otherwise, she would have felt anxious because of the delay in her adoption. She might have assumed that we didn't want to take her home anymore." Evelyn said.

"Alonzo, mumma will be back soon, and I'll bring new toys for you. Be good, boy, and don't trouble, Daddy. " Evelyn said to her little boy.

"Of course, Alonzo is my good boy, and he is well-behaved just like his sister. " As Sebastien was busy boasting over his well-behaved kids, his naughty daughter broke Alonzo's toy car. Alonzo started crying on top of his lungs.

"Not again. Your daughter is getting so notorious. She is always breaking stuff and creating mess." Evelyn complaint.

"It's fine she is just a kid." Sebastien said as he was trying to make his son stop crying by making funny faces.

"You and dad are spoiling her too much." Evelyn rolled her eyes.

"Don't worry, babe. You should enjoy shopping and I'll manage everything here." Sebastien said.

"Isabella, you better behave yourself and don't make your brother cry." She said to the little devil.
