The trip to the hospital was both a relief and a nightmare. I was questioned by the police for hours and I couldn't even complain because my story made no sense. Jane was missing and when I told them about the car crash with Anna, the car and Anna were both gone.

"That makes no sense. Was there any glass, blood, Anything?" Disbelief crossed through me as I looked up to the officer. The way his eyes analyzed me, his grim expression told me he didn't know if he should pity me for everything I've endured or wonder if I'd gone mad. The look alone gave me my answer.

"There was nothing. We checked up and down the entire road in case we got the wrong location but there was nothing. We even asked neighbors near by and no one heard a thing last night." I felt a slight squeeze around my hand, making my attention draw to the man beside me. Tom, looking at me with worry, none the less held a smile. I knew Tom believed me, after everything he'd just seen how could he not? But I knew that look wasn't to say anything else but give up on questions. After all, we were leaving out half of the tale.

Jeff, June and Liu had to stay out of the public eye. They were wanted criminals and we didn't think anyone would believe they only had body modifications. So they went back to the Woods' family cabin until everything blew over. Right now police were investigating our home, the now burned down building, and looking into two missing people.

When asked what happened to me, I only said I'd been kidnapped. I told them that when the bullets came through the kitchen window, I made an effort to grab the keys to make a run for it. When I opened my front door, the two women were there and because I was injured, I lost in the struggle. They had me blind folded and when I could finally see, it was a dark room.

"The woman from the crash had me blinded most of the way back. When we got back to town, she told me to take it off. Thankfully for that I was able to find a chance to fight back." The blind fold was a crucial lie. We couldn't give them another place to look because anywhere else I'd been, had proof that a man had been with me and that I might not have been a captive at all. Memories of the kiss we shared at the run down hotel made my heart pick up in pace, my ears burning.

"She let you remove your blind fold?" Of course this was crucial too, since how did I knew when to fight back if they were to believe these women overpowered me.

"They liked to play mind games with me." I slowly nodded, remembering all the things they said to make me and Jeff turn on each other in their own twisted game. "They enjoyed taunting me about my Uncle's safety. I think they wanted me to know they were fulfilling their promise."

The officer, a woman this time, nodded. Something like sorrow crossed her eyes for a moment before she slowly closed them and when they opened, she offered a small smile.

"But you were very brave, now you're both safe and sound. I promise." Smiling at the gentleness in her tone, I nodded back. Although I didn't feel it, how could I when both women who I thought were dead are now missing, along with any proof?

Reaching over to the table beside her, she grabbed a water bottle before extending it to me. "It's important to hydrate, the doctor said you were fine but water always helps." Holding my smile, I nod again before taking it in my hands. Flipping a page in her notebook, she clicked her pen and continued.
