Months. That how long Eli has been under Lycaon's control. Killing. Feeding. On human flesh no less.

It's different when he's feasting on animal flesh. When he's eating animals, it's like eating tofu or vegetables. Or eating a veggie burger. Essentially healthy for him.

But human meat? It's... Eli would describe it as meaty tasty. But what really sets animal meat from human meat is that when Eli eats the latter, the fear they emit is more potent and they taste better like "salted meat," making them the ideal prey for some lycans like Lycaon.

Worse though for Eli? It can be addicting. And it will be a while for him to get off of that and eat animals rather then people.

Don't get him wrong. Feeding on animals will keep his supernatural abilities at their peak. The same if he eats humans. But the difference is that while he won't get the urge to feed on animals every 24 to 48 hours, he will when he feeds on humans.

Even when his mind is taken over by the primal mind, Eli still revisits that night. Where he killed Damon. In front of Stefani.

And if he's being honest, he doesn't care if he killed Damon. He did himself a favor by avenging the man that had plagued his dreams for 11, going on 12 years. He does not give a rat's ass if Damon's circle of friends don't forgive him. He doesn't. For once, he tested easy, knowing that his dad's murderer is gone for good.

The only thing he regrets is killing in front of Stefani. And Eli wished to any god that exist that he didn't care about her or her reaction. But he does. He sees himself in her. Both witnessed their fathers died in front of them. And again, only difference was that Eli was six. Stefani was thirteen.

It had Eli at fist wondered if it was all worth it. Because he thought he took the first step of healing by sparring Damon's life. But he didn't. Maybe he will forgive him. But then again, doubt took over Eli. He doesn't see himself forgiving his dad's murderer. Why should he? Why should Eli forgive Damon for that? Would forgiving him let Eli heal and move forward?

Well he doesn't know.

All he can think about now is how to escape Lycaon. As his primal self is sleeping after feasting on the last hunting family.

Supernatural Hunters. Ones that not only hunted vampires when they start trouble. But all of them. But unfortunately, Lycaon caught wind of them and made sure they were dealt with.

Eli kept wondering how he was going to escape. And then he realized something. Something he read in his dad's journal.

How he broke his bond with Klaus.

Oh yeah, Eli knows all about the sirebond between his dad and his former Original Hybrid Master.

Tyler broke his sire bond to Klaus by repeatedly triggering his werewolf curse (transforming) against Klaus's will, essentially proving his independence and weakening the forced loyalty, a process aided by Hayley Marshall (Hope's mother, who was just a werewolf at the time), who also helped him and other hybrids with the same method, ultimately freeing them from Klaus's control.

The breakdown was pretty much this:

After being turned into a hybrid, Tyler was bound to Klaus, feeling compelled to obey any command given to him. Like getting Jeremy off of vervain. Bitting Caroline, etc.

He sought help from Bill Forbes, who instructed him to transform at will to fight the compulsion, but Tyler couldn't control it initially and hurt Bill.

But he eventually realized that by forcing himself to transform (turn into a wolf) over and over again, often in the wilderness, he could break the painful, involuntary connection to Klaus.
