3rd person.

It had been years. Years of fighting. Years of pain. Years of resentment that kept them both hurting. But several months ago, they had stopped. The fighting.. stopped.

Austin had stepped into the Mii Channel, same as usual. Except he wasn't there to fight. He was there to make peace, to put an end to their shared suffering.

And from that day on, the two were... well not civil. But they didn't fight physically anymore. But of course they bickered. And argued. And sometimes shouted. But it was progress. Neither were left with bruises or cuts that lingered.

But even the shouting eventually died out. The bickering never did though. It probably never would. But that's just the way they were wired.

The taller man spent considerably more time in the Mii Channel than before. Not all day, but maybe 2-3 hours. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

That's exactly where they were. Sat together in the Mii Channel. Talking about anything they could think of.

Eteled's pov

My gaze focused off to the large, pitch black screen as I quietly talked about my life at Nintendo as an assistant operating system manager for the Wii and the tough time Todd used to give me for not being 'good enough'. Annoying rat bastard.

While I was quietly talking, I felt a weight slump against my side. I glanced over to find Austin asleep, laying his head against my shoulder. He was slumped against the wall pretty low so his head could comfortably rest on my shoulder.

Our arms collided too. Normally I would've moved away and laughed when he collapsed to the floor. But he'd never fell asleep near me before. Even when times I could tell he was exhausted, he refused to fall asleep near me. So I let it slide. I let him lay against me. Just this once.

About 45 minutes passed before I felt movement, followed by a small yawn. He didn't move his head for a moment, simply relaxed against me.

"Did you have a good nap?" I asked quietly, a soft, lightly teasing smile lining my lips. It was then he seemed to realise it was me he was relaxed against, and shot away.

He quickly shook his head, rubbing his eyes.
"That didn't happen.." He murmured. "You're hallucinating."

"Oh sure. I hallucinated you curled up against me, did I?"
"Ewww don't say it like thatt.." He huffed tiredly.

"I'm not wrong."
"Well you're not right either."

Austin slumped down onto his back, head turned away.
"You still look exhausted." I could see the purple moons beneath his eyes. That and he was laying on the floor half asleep.

"M' just.. groggy..." But even as he said it he squirmed, trying to keep himself awake.
"You can sleep, man. I don't care."
"Mh.."

After a moment, he slumped over, curling up on his side facing away from me.

Austin's pov

Christ, I've gone soft...

I can't believe I fell asleep not only nest to - but ON the bastard! How humiliating!

I used to be feared! I used to be scary! Now I'm just some.. sleeping lump. It's not even like it's comfortable in here either. It's cold as balls and I'm lying on tile.

But somehow I'm just so.. sleepy...

"Your thoughts are loud."
"Mh..?"
"You somehow seem to make it really obvious when you're thinking a lot."
"The fuck does that even mean..?"
"It means go to sleep dickwad."

I scoffed. "Don't tell me what to do, bastard..."
But as I said it my vision grew hazy.
"Or what?"
I grumbled out a response even I didn't understand.

"There we go."
And then everything went black.
