Alice's P.O.V
December 26, 1970
I woke up the next morning when I heard crying from Mary's room. Paul managed to sleep through it, though he was very tired from last night. I got out of bed and made my way to Mary's room just as the same time Helen was. She looked very tired.
"Helen, I got it. You can go back to bed" I said. Helen yawned and nodded. She went back to her room. I went into Mary's room. She stopped crying as soon as she saw me.
"Did someone just want their mommy?" I said. I picked Mary up and then kissed her cheek. I went down to the kitchen with. Dad, Mabel and Laura were sitting at the table with Ethel, Heather and Walter who were eating pancakes. Linda and Joseph were making another batch of pancakes.
"Morning sissy" Laura said
"Please don't call me sissy again. Where's all the other kids? I only see three" I said
"They all partied too hard last night. They're hungover from all the juice they had last night" Laura said. Mabel hit Laura on the arm.
"Don't talk about the children like that. I don't need you corrupting their minds so young" Mabel said
"Geez mom. I was only joking" Laura said. Dad laughed at them.
"Thank goodness I have you girls to keep me happy" dad said. Linda put the last pancake of the second batch on a plate.
"There's pancakes for the adults now if anyone wants some" Linda said. The phone rang from the living room.
"I'll go get it" I said. I sat Mary down in a chair and went into the living room. When I answered it, I was expecting it to be John but instead, it was Ethan.
"Alice? Is this you on the phone?" Ethan asked
"Yeah. It's me" I said
"It's good to hear your voice again. Sorry we couldn't make it last night. Your dad invited us but Uncle Thomas wanted a family dinner with Francie and I" Ethan said
"That's totally understandable" I said
"Anyways, I'm calling because on New Years, Francie and I are throwing a party and we want to invite you and Paul" Ethan said
"We'll be there. Linda and Joseph are in town. Can they come too?" I asked
"Of coarse. The more, the better" Ethan said
"Great. I'll let them know. See you New Years. Tell Francie I said hi" I said
"Will do" Ethan said. The line then went dead. I hung up the phone just as Paul came downstairs.
"Who was that?" Paul asked
"Ethan. He invited us to his New Years party" I said
"Sounds like fun" Paul said. He walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me. He slowly leaned in and pressed his lips against mine.
"I love you" Paul said
"I love you too" I said. We continued kissing until Linda entered the room.
"I don't mean to interrupt the lovely couple but Joseph and I are ready to leave when you are Paul" Linda said
"Alright. I'll get ready in a few" Paul said. Linda went back into the kitchen.
"Am I taking the kids with me or are they staying with you?" Paul asked
"They're staying with me" I said
"I'm gonna miss you all day" Paul said
"I'll miss you too but I'll be here when you get home" I said
"I know you will. Linda said that we'd get back sometime around eleven. I don't know what she has planned" Paul said
"Well I bet it's something fun" I said

Linda, Joseph and Paul were all bundled up and ready to spend their bonding day together. Linda decided that Heather could tag along with them.
"You all have fun" I said
"We will" Linda said.
"We should start heading off if we want this day to last a bit longer" Joseph said
"Heather, make sure you keep Uncle Paul company at all times. I know he gets lonely without me" I said
"I will Auntie" Heather said. Paul smiled at Heather and then looked at me.
"I'll see you when I get home" Paul said
"You will" I said. With that, the four left the house. I then went to go find Ethel. She was in her room with Mary, telling her a story.
"Girls, we're going to see Uncle John and Auntie Yoko now" I said
"Okay. Is daddy coming with us?" Ethel asked
"Nope. It's just us. Now go get ready. I'll help your sister" I said
"Okay mommy" Ethel said. She ran off. I picked up Mary, whom was sitting on the floor.
"Let's get you ready to go" I said.

The walk to John's and Yoko's wasn't that long. When we got there, I stood in front of the door. Ethel was standing next to me, holding my hand while I was holding Mary. I let go of Ethel's hand momentarily to knock on the door. I waited for a nomen and the door opened. I was greeted by Yoko.
"Hello Alice. Hello children. Please, come in" Yoko said. We stepped inside and Yoko closed the door behind us.
"It's just going to be you, John and the children tonight. I have plans to see my family tonight" Yoko said
"That's alright" I said
"If the children get tired, there's an extra bedroom upstairs they can sleep in. Help yourself to anything if you get hungry or thirsty" Yoko said
"Thanks Yoko" I said. Yoko smiled before grabbing her coat and bag.
"When John comes down, tell him I might not be home until morning" Yoko said
"Will do Yoko" I said. Yoko smiled before leaving. I went into the living room and sat down on a couch. I sat Mary beside me and Ethel sat beside her.
"Did you finish your story that you were telling Mary earlier today?" I asked
"Not yet" Ethel said
"You should continue it. I bet Mary really wants to hear the ending" I said. Ethel nodded and then started where she left off with her story. I got up to go to the kitchen for a glass of water. Just as I about reached the kitchen, I heard John.
"You look just as beautiful as you did when I last saw you" he said. Did he just call me beautiful? That has never come out of John before when he's spoken to me.
