Chapter 25

Alice's P.O.V

I just stood there as John walked over to me. He trapped me in a hug.

"It's really great to see you again Alice" John said

"You too John" I said

"Where's the little ones?" John asked

"They're in the living room. Ethel is telling Mary a story" I said. John smiled and went bit the living room.

"Uncle John!" I heard Ethel say. I went into the living room. Ethel was hugging John while he returned the hug.

"Look at how big you're getting. It was your birthday yesterday, wasn't it?" John asked. Ethel nodded.

"I turned seven" Ethel said

"Well happy birthday" John said. He let go of Ethel and then looked at Mary.

"And this must be Mary. I haven't really met you yet" John said. He picked her up and held her. Mary just kind of stared at John.

"Mary, that's your Uncle John" I said

"It's nice to meet you. Her eyes, they look like Paul's" John said

"I know" I said. John set Mary down. We sat down on the couch with the children.

"Well Alice. We've got a lot of catching up to do" John said

Paul's P.O.V

I have to admit, I was having fun with Linda, Joseph and Heather, even though I was missing Alice.

"Are you alright Uncle Paul?" Heather asked me. I looked at her and smiled. She hasn't left my side once today.

"I'm fine. I just miss Alice. I don't like spending time away from her" I said.

"Don't worry Uncle Paul. You'll see her when you get home" Heather said. I ruffled her hair and smiled.

"You're right Heather. I will see her later. Right now, I'm going to enjoy my day with you and your parents" I said

Alice's P.O.V

It was fun actually spending time with John. He played with the girls, which eventually tired them out.

"Alice, I think they're ready for bed" John said

"Alright. Come on, baby girls. It's time for bed" I said. I picked up Mary, whom was passed out on the floor. Ethel stood up, grabbing my hand and rubbing her eyes.

"I'm tired mommy" Ethel said

"I know. That's why it's bedtime" I said

"Goodnight little ones" John said. Ethel turned to look at John.

"Goodnight Uncle John" Ethel said. I took the girls upstairs and set them into bed.

After singing for the girls and giving them goodnight kisses, I went back downstairs to John. I sat beside him on the couch.

"You really tired those girls out" I said

"Hey, I haven't seen Ethel in awhile and that was my first time actually meeting Mary. They need some fun time with Uncle John" John said. I giggled at him. I noticed he was staring at me intently.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked

"You have a really cute laugh" John said. I had to process what he just said. Did he really just call my laugh cute?

"Thanks" I said. John moved closer to me. A little too close.

"I heard you singing to the girls upstairs. You have a beautiful voice" John said

"Thank you John" I said. It got really weird for me when he took a strand of my hair and started playing with it.

"Can I tell you something?" John said

"I-I guess" I said, nervously.

"When I first saw you, I was really attracted to you. We all were actually but Paul was the one to sweep you off your feet" John explained

"Really? All of you were attracted to me?" I asked

"Yeah. I mean look at you, you're extremely beautiful" John said. I awkwardly smiled.

"Well, thanks" I said. John then placed his hand on my thigh. 'This isn't happening right now. Please tell me this isn't happening right now.' My thoughts were interrupted when I saw John staring at my lips.

"John..." I said

"I wonder what your lips taste like? I bet they taste like sugar" John said. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. He started leaning in and before I could even blink, his lips were on mine. I managed to push him off of me.

"John, what the hell!?" I said. When John finally realized what he did, he went wide eyed.

"Alice, I don't know what came over me. The attraction came over me and-" I interrupted John when I slapped him in the face.

"Okay, I deserved that" John said. I stood up, grabbing my things,

"I'm going to wake up my girls and then we're going to leave so they can get home to Paul, their father and my husband" I said. I stormed upstairs into the guest room where Ethel and smart were sleeping.

"Girls, wake up" I said. Ethel sat up, looking at me with a dazed look.

"What's going to mommy?" Ethel asked

"We're going home" I said

When I got home with the girls, I heard someone in the kitchen. 'Oh crap. Paul beat me home.' I was relieved when I saw that it was Helen.

"Alice, you're home. If you're looking for Paul, he hasn't returned yet" Helen said

"Good. Can you take the girls upstairs and put them to bed? I woke them up and they're still tired" I said.

"Alright. Come on girls" Helen said. She grabbed Mary from me and took Ethel's hand. They went upstairs. Just as Helen disappeared upstairs, Paul, Linda, Joseph and Heather walked through the door.

"Hi Alice" Linda greeted me

"Hey you guys. How was your day?" I asked

"We had fun. I think Paul was missing you all day" Joseph said. I looked over at Paul who just gave me a wink.

"Did he now?" I asked.

"We'll leave you two alone. Joseph and I are going to take Heather to bed" Linda said. Joseph took Heather's hand and they made their way upstairs. Linda followed behind them. Paul started making his way over to me.

"It's good that-" I was silenced when he pressed his lips against mine.

"I was missing you all day, love. I missed having your lips against mine. I missed having your body pressed against mine" Paul said. He started planting kisses all along my neck.

"Why don't you show just how much you missed me today?" I asked

"Gladly" Paul said. We didn't even bother going upstairs to the bedroom. Instead, we ended up spending our night on the couch.
