Alice's P.O.V
The next morning, I got up bright and early as I awaited the arrival of Linda and Joseph. I sat outside of the break of dawn when the sun was starting to rise.
"You're up early" Paul said.
"I was too excited to sleep in" I said. Paul sat down beside me. I let my head rest on his shoulder. He grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine.
"I think you picked a good time to wake up" Paul said
"What do you mean?" I asked
"This sun rise is beautiful" Paul said. I lifted my head to look at him. He looked back at me and smiled.
"The light from the sun makes you look beautiful. It highlights your many features" Paul said. I blushed and hid my face in his shoulder.
"I'm your wife and I still blush when you say things like that" I said. I looked at Paul again. He cupped my face in his hands.
"But I love it when you blush. You're absolutely beautiful when you blush" Paul said. He leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back and our kiss turned passionate. Paul pulled me into his lap and secured his arms around me to make sure I wouldn't fall. I wrapped my legs around his waist. We pulled away to catch our breaths.
"I fucking love you so much" Paul said. He kissed me again.
"Whoa! Slow down there you two" I heard Linda's voice call out. Paul and I pulled away from each other. She and Joseph were walking hand in hand towards us with both of them carrying a bag. The children were running towards us.
"Auntie Alice! Uncle Paul!" Heather said. She trapped us both in a hug.
"Hey Heather" I said
"I missed you two" Heather said
"We missed you too" Paul said. Alex joined the group hug.
"Auntie! Uncle!" he said
"Hey buddy. How is everything?" Paul asked
"Okay. I'm excited for the new babies" Alex said
"Me too" Heather said. Since Josie was younger and smaller than her brother and sister, she was the last to join in on the group hug.
"And there's little Josie" I said
"Hi" she said.
"Mommy, is there someone here?" Ethel asked as she joined us outside.
"Ethel!" Heather said. Heather let go of Paul and I and then hugged her step-sister.
"Hi Heather" Ethel said.
"Kids! I made cookies inside" Helen called out. The children all dashed inside. Linda and Joseph finally made there way to us.
"Sorry we're a little slow but I am six months pregnant with twins" Linda said, placing a hand over her stomach.
"Or she's just old" Joseph teased
