Alice's P.O.V

December 24, 1973

It was Christmas Eve and as our usual tradition, we invited George, Pattie, Ringo and Maureen to spend Christmas with us. They gladly accepted our invitation. I was in the kitchen with Pattie and Maureen. I put a kettle on to boil as I wanted some tea.

"Thanks for coming" I said

"Why wouldn't we come?" Pattie said

"Yeah. It's a Christmas tradition" Maureen said. I smiled and stared at the kettle, waiting for it to boil.

"Where's Linda? She's usually here for Christmas" Pattie asked

"She and Joseph wanted to stay in Tucson as they have family spending Christmas with them" I explained.

"Ah" Pattie replied. It went silent. I noticed Maureen trying to avoid looking at Pattie with a guilty expression on her face. Did they have some sort of fight I didn't know about? The awkward silence was broken when the kettle started to whistle.

"Anybody want some tea?" I asked

"Yes please" Pattie said.

"Okay. How about you Mo?" I asked

"Oh, none for me, but thanks for the offer" Maureen said. I poured a cup of tea for Pattie. I gave it to her and she thanked me. I walked into the living room where Paul, George and Ringo were talking.

"Boys, I made tea. Does anybody want some?" I asked.

"I'd love some" Paul said.

"Me too" Ringo said.

"I got two down for tea. Am I making it three, George?" I asked

"No thank you" George said. I noticed he was trying to avoid looking at Ringo, much like Maureen was trying to avoid looking at Pattie. He had that same look of guilt of look on his face.

"Alright. I'll be right back with the tea" I said. I went back into the kitchen and poured two cups of tea. I brought them back out and gave one to Ringo.

"Thank you Alice" he said. I smiled at him. When I gave Paul his, I leaned in close to his ear.

"Can I talk to you alone for a moment?" I said. He nodded.

"Please excuse me. Alice needs to talk to me about something" Paul said. Ringo and George nodded, then Paul stood up and followed me to our bedroom.

"What's wrong, love?" Paul asked.

"Does George seem okay to you?" I asked

"Yes, why?" Paul said

"Well, he just seems....quiet" I said

"Well he was known as the quiet Beatle" Paul said with a slight laugh.

"No, no. I mean more quiet than usual. He's trying to avoid looking at Ringo. Did they have a fight?" I asked

"Not that I'm aware of" Paul said

"Alright. I just find it a bit weird. Maureen is acting the same way around Pattie" I said
