Chapter 56

Alice's P.O.V

We finished off another successful performance. The crowd was still cheering even as we walked off the stage. I was taken by surprise when Paul wrapped his arms around me and picked me up. He spun me around.

"Another successful show!" Paul said. He put me down and planted his lips on mine. He kept on kissing me until Helen joined us.

"Guys, I don't mean to interrupt your romantic moment but I need to share something with you" Helen said

"What is it?" I asked

"Well, one of the employees was walking around the backstage area to inspect stuff. He wandered into your dressing room and found something that concerned him" Helen said. Paul and I knowingly looked at each other.

"Do you want to know what he found? Marijuana! Why the hell do you two have marijuana!?" Helen scolded.

"Well..." Paul started

"Actually, I don't want to hear it! Guess what else? The employee called the cops and they'll be here any minute!" Helen said

"Paul and I will deal with it. You just take the kids and everybody else back to the tour bus" I said. Helen nodded.

"I had a surprise for you two but I guess it's just gonna have to wait now. I'm very disappointed in you two" Helen said. She walked off to gather everyone to take them to the tour bus. Paul and I were left alone.

"Well, at least we know Helen will be a responsible mother" Paul said. I smacked his arm.

"What was that for, love?" I asked

"We're in loads of trouble. The cops are coming and they could possibly arrest us! Why did you bring that bag with you!?" I said

"You let me! This is as much your fault as it is mine!" Paul said. I was about to say something but instead another voice spoke.

"Mr and Mrs McCartney?" the voice said. Paul and I turned to see a cop.

"Y-yes?" I said. Paul knew I was feeling scared so he grabbed my hand and gently squeezed it.

"My name is Officer Wilkes. Do you two know why I'm here?" the cop said

"We do" Paul said

"I need you two to come with me" Wilkes said. Paul and I followed the officer out of the building. The whole time, my heart was pounding against my chest.

"It'll be alright, love. This isn't my first run in with a police officer" Paul said

"You've been arrested before?" I asked

"Not exactly. Back when we were doing shows in Hamburg, Pete and I got deported" Paul said

"Why?" I said

"We set a condom on fire" Paul said. I couldn't help but laugh.

"You are just so precious, Paulie" I said

Paul and I sat in Officer Wilkes office. I've never been arrested before or gotten in any sort of trouble with the cops before. My leg started shaking at the thought. I felt Paul's hand rest on my thigh.
