Chapter 26

Look what I got for Christmas! I was so happy when I got this!

Alice's P.O.V

My eyes fluttered open. I looked at the arm that was wrapped around my waist and smiled. I felt him plant kisses all along the back of neck.

"I see someone's awake" I said. The kisses stopped and I felt a chin rest against my shoulder.

"How was your sleep?" I asked.

"It was wonderful because I was holding you all night". Hang on. That wasn't Paul's voice. I turned my head and saw John's eyes staring into mine.

"John! What the hell!?" I said. I quickly got up and wrapped a blanket to cover up my nude body.

"What's wrong, baby?" John asked, sitting up.

"Don't you baby me!" I said

"But you are my baby. You're my wife" John said, reaching for my hand. I went wide eyes as John grabbed my hand. He pulled me over to him.

"No, I'm not. I'm married to Paul" I said

"I guess someone still has feelings for him" John said

"What do you mean still?" I asked

"Don't you remember? You and Paul used to date until he met Linda" John explained. I felt my heart shatter.

"What?" I asked

"How do you not remember? When Paul met Linda, he fell hard for her. Then he broke up with you. You then came to see me and you told me what happened. I was still getting over my divorce from Cynthia and I found comfort in you just like you found comfort in me.We started our own relationship" John said

"Where's Ethel?" I asked

"Who?" John asked

"My daughter. Where's my daughter?" I asked

"Darling, we don't have a daughter. Did you hit your head on something?" John said

"No, I don't think I did" I said. John wrapped his arms around me and hugged me.

"You're a little crazy sometimes but that's why I love you" John said. Then he pressed his lips to mine.

My eyes shot open. I sat up on the couch, frantically looking around me.

"Love, are okay?" I heard Paul's voice. I turned my head to see Paul, sitting up and staring at with a worried expression.

"Paul!" I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Is everything alright?" Paul asked, wrapping his arms around me in return.

"Yeah. It was just a bad dream" I said. Before Paul could speak, I pressed my lips against his. Paul kissed me back. He laid me back down. His lips left mine so they could attach to my neck.

"Paul, are you in love with me and only me?" I asked suddenly. Paul stopped kissing my neck and then faced me.

"Of coarse I am. Why would you even ask that?" Paul asked

"Well, part of my dream was that you left me for Linda. I was just scared because it made me think that you have feelings for her" I explained. Paul chuckled a bit and then tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Love, I only see Linda as a close friend. Honestly, she's one of the very few close female friends I have. Perhaps I even see her as a sister, but if there's one thing I know, I'm definitely not attracted to her like that. I'm deeply in love with you. Nobody else" Paul said. He then gave me a reassuring kiss.

"I love you too. Ethel!" I said. I almost jumped off the couch and ran to Ethel's room.

"Baby girl" I said when I got into Ethel's room.

"Mommy" she said, sitting up on her bed and rubbing her eyes. I sat with her on the bed and trapped her in a hug.

"Sweetie, I love you so much. You know mommy loves you, right?" I said

"Yes mommy. I love you too" Ethel said, hugging me back. We held our embrace for another moment.

"Mommy, where's your clothes?" Ethel asked. I let go of Ethel and looked down, realizing that I was naked from last night.

"Oh, sorry you had to see mommy like this. I just had a nightmare about you and I had to make sure you were okay" I said. I got off the bed and walked out of her room to go to mine and Paul's to get something to cover myself. As I left Ethel's room, Paul was standing there wearing only boxers,with a smirk on his face while he was holding my robe.

"Thanks" I said, grabbing the robe from him. I put the robe on and looked at Paul again. He was still smirking.

"Honey, you better wipe that smirk off your face" I said. Paul put his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him.

"I wouldn't mind if you walked around naked all day" Paul said

"Then you wouldn't be able to keep your hands off of me. We'd be having sex all day" I said

"Sounds like a perfect day to me" Paul said. He pressed his lips to mine. After about a minute, it wasn't just kissing. It was a full on make out session. We were interrupted when Ethel nudged her way in between us.

"Daddy!" she said, holding her arms out, telling Paul she wanted a hug.

"Morning, little one" Paul said. He kneeled down and hugged Ethel.

"I love you daddy" Ethel said

"I love you too" Paul said. I smiled at the two.

"I'm hungry" Ethel said, looking at Paul and then me.

"Let's go get you some breakfast" Paul said. He held out his hand for Ethel and she took it.

"You coming, love?" Paul asked

"I'll be down soon. I'm going to get Mary" I said. Paul nodded and kissed me on the cheek before going to the kitchen with Ethel. I made my way to Mary's room. When I got there, I found Helen and Linda in there. Helen was holding Mary and Linda was sitting on the floor with the twins in her lap. I joined them.

"Morning" I said. Both Helen and Linda looked at me and smiled.

"Morning" they said at the same time.

"Do you want Mary?" Helen asked. I nodded. Helen gave Mary to me.

"Paul and I are going to make breakfast. Whenever you want to come down, please do so" I said.

"Will do Alice" Linda said. As I left Mary's room, I quickly looked at Linda. She smiled at me before I left. I made my way to the kitchen with Mary.

"Mary, you know you're really lucky to have people like Helen and Linda in your life. They're like family and they love you" I said. Mary smiled at me and looked at me with those big brown eyes. Her dad's eyes.
